Overview

Shimmick is seeking a talented Superintendent to be based in the greater Los Angeles area. In this role, you will initially support the North Hollywood to Pasadena Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Project, a progressive 19-mile transit corridor connecting North Hollywood, Burbank, Glendale, Eagle Rock, and Pasadena. Featuring 22 new stations, the BRT line is designed to provide faster and more reliable transit options, reduce traffic congestion, and improve air quality by utilizing zero-emission electric buses.

 

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide overall on-site administrative and technical management for a wide range of construction projects.
  • Responsible for the organization and direction of construction and related activities within assigned area of responsibility, which may be a single area, multi-area or a multi-discipline construction project.
  • May be the primary client contact for all jobsite day to day activities, or may coordinate with client’s resident representatives on jobsite activities within assigned area of operations.
  • Responsibilities are to ensure assigned jobsite operations are in compliance with design/specifications, completion on schedule, within budget and to quality standards. Interfaces with all other administrative field staff, field management staff and particularly the Project Manager in a coordinated effort.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED + 8 years relevant experience in field construction supervision including 2 years experience in the Superintendent position or demonstrated equivalent.
  • Heavy civil, roadway, street improvement, or transportation infrastructure construction project experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing asphalt paving, concrete placement, curb and gutter, sidewalks, and roadway reconstruction activities.
  • Experience overseeing grading, excavation, earthwork, and site development operations.
  • Current OSHA 10
  • Must be detail oriented, thorough, well organized and effectively manage time
  • Ability to work in a high-paced environment with asense of urgency
  • Strong organizational skills 6 ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Knowledge of Acubid, Hard Dollar, or similar software
  • Excel experience

  • This project is located onsite in Southern California

The salary range for this position is between $130,000 - $170,000 per year depending on experience and/or education.
