Description

The Superintendent is responsible for the successful field execution of assigned landscape construction projects. This role supports customers, project teams, field employees, subcontractors, and vendors by driving safe, high-quality work; maintaining schedules and cost performance; ensuring timely project documentation and reporting; and delivering a professional customer experience from pre-construction through closeout. The Superintendent leads day-to-day field coordination and is accountable for achieving project outcomes consistent with signed contracts and established company procedures.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of landscape construction operations, sequencing, materials, equipment, and field practices.
  • Ability to understand scopes of work, plans, schedules, daily production expectations, and field assignments.
  • Ability to organize and coordinate labor, materials, tools, equipment, and daily work activities.
  • Professional communication skills for employees, customers, vendors, subcontractors, and project leadership.
  • Ability to monitor work quality, identify field issues, and communicate labor, material, equipment, safety, or schedule needs promptly.
  • Positive, organized, and proactive approach to changing priorities and jobsite challenges.
  • Ability to provide clear direction, reinforce expectations, and hold assigned employees accountable for safe, productive, quality work.


Education and Experience:
  • Minimum of five years of experience as a Superintendent or in a comparable construction field leadership role.
  • Landscape construction experience is strongly preferred.
  • Must meet and maintain the union eligibility, membership, registration, or dispatch requirements applicable to assigned projects, as required by the governing collective bargaining agreement.
  • Equivalent combinations of relevant education, training, and experience may be considered.


Physical Demands and Requirements
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, reach, and use hands, arms, and fingers in active construction-site environments.
  • Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb stairs, and navigate uneven jobsite terrain.
  • Required to move or lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Regularly works outdoors and must be able to observe field conditions and move safely through assigned work areas.
  • Routinely uses phones, tablets, computers, and other standard jobsite or office equipment.
