Job Summary

The Superintendent is responsible for coordinating and overseeing all on-site construction activities. The position ensures the highest standards of quality, supervises trade partners and field personnel, enforces best-in-class safety practices, and supports the successful delivery of projects on schedule and within budget.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Support the General Superintendent in developing, updating, and maintaining the project schedule, including the master schedule, 60-day look-ahead schedules, and two-week look-ahead plans for assigned trades.
  • Enforce and maintain corporate safety program requirements across all daily site operations.
  • Track material procurement and delivery timelines, ensuring required materials arrive on site as scheduled and coordinating closely with the Project Superintendent on contract item lists, shop drawing schedules, and deliveries.
  • Participate in weekly foreman, superintendent, and project team meetings to align on field progress, logistics, and issues requiring action.
  • Prepare accurate and timely daily construction reports documenting site activity and progress.
  • Identify, implement, and maintain appropriate risk controls throughout the duration of the project.
  • Establish and maintain effective document control systems to ensure work is installed in accordance with the latest design documents and approved shop drawings.
  • Communicate design questions or information gaps to the Project Manager for timely issuance of RFIs.
  • Assist in preparing monthly project status reports for client submission.
  • Ensure all required permits and jurisdictional approvals are obtained, posted, and renewed as required prior to and during construction.
  • Partner with the Project Manager during preconstruction to identify constructability concerns, scope gaps, and potential risks, and participate in scope development, buy-out strategies, and scheduling.
  • Research and address owner, landlord, and city/state requirements to prevent delays, ensure safety, and support client satisfaction.
  • Develop a strong understanding of project strategy, including financial objectives, schedules, logistics, phasing, milestones, and inspection requirements.
  • Oversee daily field operations to ensure site safety, quality workmanship, schedule adherence, progress tracking, and site cleanliness.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager to maintain an accurate, up-to-date project schedule that reflects evolving project conditions and meets cost and time requirements.
  • Foster positive subcontractor and vendor relationships through professionalism, fairness, and clear communication.


Qualifications and Skills
  • Requires Engineering, Construction Management or related Bachelor's degree, or possess equivalent years of related experience.
  • Requires 7+ years of experience working on core/shell projects. Previous Hospitality or Residential experience is a plus but not necessary.
  • Requires working knowledge of various construction disciplines, union agreements/jurisdiction, cost control, scheduling, safety regulations, engineering drawings and other documents required.
  • 10-Hour OSHA and 30-Hour OSHA Construction Safety and Health Certificate
  • 4-Hour Supported Scaffold User Certificate
