About the Role:

The Superintendent , either alone or in in conjunction with a Senior Superintendent, shall be responsible for overall onsite management of the project from inception to final acceptance, including all onsite planning, organization, and control of the work in the field. In conjunction with the lead Superintendent the Assistant Superintendent (and his/her field staff) shall ensure the timely and accurate completion of work. Duties and attributes shall include, but may not be limited to, the following:
  • Be detail oriented with a focus on quality control
  • Assist in completing monthly CPM schedule update forms
  • Demonstrate a "can-do" attitude in respect to task and project completion
  • Making updates to CPM schedule daily
  • Provide "2-week look ahead" schedules.
  • If the project does not have a full-time safety coordinator, assist in conducting weekly safety toolbox talks and complete forms associated with toolbox talks.
  • Provide photographic and/or video job progress documentation
  • Generate RFIs as required
  • Maintain a daily diary of all activities and site conditions
  • Effectively "think outside the box" to meet objectives
  • Manage punch lists and closeout process through owner/architect acceptance
  • Ensure that all timecards are completed daily
  • Manage the foreman of each trade, including enforcement of safety practices, ensuring quality of work and that each trade is providing timely and accurate field documentation.
  • Assist in the acquisition, training and daily management of new project employees
  • Read and understand subcontractors' scopes of work to affectively manage the trades
  • If applicable, share responsibility for ensuring all LEED requirements are being met onsite
  • Manage all requirements for mobilization (i.e., pre-mobilization site survey, field office setup, initial survey with third party surveyor, arranging for temporary sanitary facilities and dumpsters)
  • Attend all pre-installation conferences and weekly Subcontractor Safety and Coordination Meetings
  • Effectively communicate project updates to Senior Superintendents and Project Manager
  • Attend and participate in all Owner Progress Meetings
  • Ensure the jobsite security is maintained
  • Ensure E&S measures are maintained and in good order
  • Understand OSHA safety procedures to ensure all accidents on site are promptly reported and investigated, and assist in safety inspections by outside agencies.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized job site
  • Schedule field inspections
  • Project commissioning and closeout

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years' experience as a Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent or Project Engineer working on U.S. based "ground up" commercial construction project in excess of $5M
  • Staff Management experience
  • Excellent Safety record
  • Ability to work with various field personnel and sub-contractors in an efficient manner
  • Must be comfortable with and able to manage self perform work
  • Computer literate with experience in Procore or similiar project management software
  • Detail oriented and organized with a commitment to excellence
  • OSHA 30 Certification
  • A combination of experience and a higher education in a Trade Specialization, Construction Management, Engineering or similiar is a plus
