Full Job Description
CORE is seeking a Superintendent to provide on-site coordination for all phases of construction on large scale commercial projects in the Fort Lauderdale area. The employee's primary responsibility will be for all onsite activities of a construction project ranging from start-up to punch-out, including:
  • Site logistics planning
  • Maintaining the project schedule and establishing the critical path for subs and vendors
  • Coaching subcontractors on safe construction practices
  • Facilitating and encouraging subcontractor coordination and Lean building practices
  • Quality control, ensuring all subcontractor deficiencies are corrected
  • Working with design team and owner to overcome challenges / unforeseen conditions
  • Reviewing all drawings, specifications and submittals
  • Daily progress reports and weekly schedule updates
  • Own the Closeout process and punch list
  • Overall team leadership and mentorship of younger team members
The superintendent's role is to ensure whatever is required to facilitate the construction of the project on site from beginning to completion while utilizing CORE's best practices in safety, quality, schedule and cost while maintaining relationships with both our trade partners and our clients. These projects are often for a wide range of institutional clients, including colleges, universities, K-12 districts, municipalities, healthcare systems and more. Pay will be commensurate with skills and experience. This is an exempt position under the Fair Labor Standards Act and the employee is not eligible for overtime compensation. Candidate Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 10 years construction experience
  • Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience
  • Strong communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Complete and detailed experience with subcontractor and construction sequencing
  • Understanding of ASI's RFI's and Material Submittals
  • Technology: Experience with Microsoft Office, MS Project and Procore
  • Experience with CMAR and/or Design/Build delivery methods
  • Must work well in a team environment and be committed to client service
  • Must be willing to travel to projects throughout South Florida
  • OSHA 30
  • A valid Driver's License
