Superintendent (Commercial)

Job Type Full-time Description **Must have project and master scheduling experience with high-rise multi-family residential projects and / or high-end retail, hospitality, and commercial real estate projects in Chicagoland.** Role Summary Reporting to the Director of Field Operations, a Superintendent is the leader of the job site. The superintendent must garner buy-in and lead the project forward through setbacks. They must have keen attention to detail to identify issues or potential bottlenecks in a plan and adjust accordingly. They are master communicators able to speak to a variety of stakeholders. They are critical thinkers who can make large scale work plans and coordinate tasks to different teams on the job site. Our superintendents thrive on collaboration and accountability seeing a job through from pre-con to completion, including being responsible for holistic scheduling of the project from start to finish. 30Supervise the total construction effort to ensure the project is constructed to meet the design document scope in a high-quality manner within the contracted schedule31Create, maintain and update the construction schedule within Microsoft Project. 32Be the main point of contact for all onsite details including quality assurance, safety and subcontractor oversight33Continuously look for ways to streamline and improve internal systems, job site productivity, and safety processes34Manage the project schedule using Procore and Microsoft Project, ensuring all trades are aligned to the project timeline35Ensure project estimates are accurate and complete, participate in meetings to review the scope of work, discuss ways to reduce costs, and provide value engineering ideas36Identify potential bottlenecks and gaps and work proactively to find resolutions while continuing to meet project deadlines avoiding potential delays, liabilities, or risks37Manage subcontractor relationships with consistent communication and follow up of scheduling, change orders, RFI's38Maintain a positive and productive relationship with clients by communicating professionally, managing expectations, and addressing concerns with a solution-oriented approach throughout the project Our Benefits & Perks: 30Competitive Compensation31Unlimited PTO32Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance33Paid Maternity & Paternity Leave34401k Match Requirements Qualifications for Success 30Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or comparable or equivalent field experience31Minimum of 3 years of experience serving as a construction site superintendent or similar roles32Strong technical and communication skills across stakeholders, including email and document organization, with Microsoft Office Suite knowledge required, Microsoft Project & Procore knowledge strongly preferred33Ability to apply interpersonal and relationship building strategies to create strong client, owner and subcontractor relationships that continue following project completion34Able to read and interpret documents such as architectural drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals 35Ability to prioritize various tasks and manage time efficiently identifying long lead times and critical path items36Flexibility and adaptability as situations arise leveraging a solution-oriented attitude to meet business needs37Critical thinking with a resourceful mindset and a keen eye on detail and organizational skills; process-oriented38Able to prioritize and work with a sense of urgency providing frequent, proactive communication39Ability to lead an implement Pull Planning Scheduling and Lean Construction Principles ** We are not accepting recruitment agency submissions for this general role.
