Job Responsibilities:

General Job Duties:
  • To exhibit a fair and consistent management approach that follows the principles outlined in The Magna Employee's Charter to ensure a satisfied and productive employee workplace.
  • To lead and direct Company health and safety objectives that provide for a safe and healthful workplace for all Decostar employees.
  • To identify growth and developmental opportunities and on-going training needs of personnel that will provide for an overall positive working environment.
  • To follow Company policies and display conduct expected of Decostar employees as described in the employee handbook.
  • To persuade and support the following of Company policies and business objectives in the daily management of the operations of the Company.
  • To meet and maintain all customer quality standards as well as the standards of Decostar.


Specific Job Duties:
  • Manage all aspects of The Magna Employee's Charter and ensure that the charter is adhered to by all Decostar staff by providing guidance and leading by example.
  • Implement the Decostar hiring plan using selection techniques integrating employee ability, prior experience, and in-house training to ensure future success with the Company.
  • Manage salaried staff employment agreements.
  • Maintain up-to-date job descriptions for all employees of Decostar which include required qualifications and necessary training.
  • Lead the development of the Quick Start screening and training process for the staffing of team members and technicians at Decostar.
  • Develop, maintain and distribute the Employee Handbook as required.
  • Develop a performance appraisal format for all Decostar employees and develop a system for monitoring and tracking such records for job security.
  • Implement an attendance program that reduces unexcused absences by employees.
  • To ensure that automation/robotic technical support is provided to all pertinent production department employees. This responsibility is geared towards a "train the trainer" approach with the goal of delivering first-class customerservice.
  • Participate in new program launch activities with the specific goal of assisting in the identification, installation, and commissioning of the needed capital assets to support production requirements.
  • Coordinate training activities for appropriate personnel regarding the design intent, operation, and maintenance of automation and/or robotic system equipment.
  • Provide engineering support to the Plant Maintenance Manager with respect to automated and robotic systems.
  • Participate fully in Decostar continuous improvement team activities as directed by the Manager of Operations to ensure CI goals are met.
  • Coordinate new projects and/or engineering modifications as assigned. Ensure all work is in accordance with all local, state and federal regulations.
  • Assume project management responsibilities for any project assigned by the Manager of Operations and ensure that all timelines are met.
  • Assist as required in writing bid specifications for potential vendors for specific projects and create bid comparison matrices for the purposes of vendor selection.
  • Provide regular progress reports on the timeline schedules for all projects.
  • Continuously review and consider new technologies as they might apply to Decostar Industries. Make recommendations to the Manager of Operations for considering introduction of new technologies to the plant floor and be able to demonstrate the feasibility and justification for such technologies.
  • Provide automation and robotics support as required as it applies to all aspects of current and any future production systems.
  • Perform labor efficiency analysis and develop ideas and solutions to improve labor efficiency.
  • Perform other duties as directed.


Skills and Experience Required:
  • Must have good project management skills and be able to lead a team.
  • General understanding of Paint, Molding, and Assembly processes.
  • Able to work with Maintenance Personnel in Stressful situations to get production equipment back up and running.
  • Must have 4 years minimum experience in programming Fanuc, Sepro, and/or other robot systems. Must be able to develop path programming from scratch, along with programming all sub-system interfaces (light curtains, safety circuits, other process equipment, SPI interfaces, etc...)
  • Must have two year's minimum experience in programming Allen Bradley PLC's.
  • Two years minimum experience in creating drawings in AutoCAD.
  • Must be experienced in reading mechanical, system, and layout drawings.
  • Must exhibit strong PC skills.
  • Must have a demonstrated understanding of electrical and mechanical equipment and operational principles of mechanical components and systems.
  • Demonstrated exceptional oral and written communication skills required.
  • Demonstrated excellent leadership skills required.


Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field of study required. Minimum ten years work related experience may be substituted in lieu of degree. Work experience combined with current schooling towards degree will be considered.


Physical Requirements:
  • This position requires a person to have the ability to perform work while standing or walking for up to eight (8) hours a day, the ability to perform work while sitting for up to eight (8) hours a day and the ability to lift up to 10 pounds on an infrequent basis. Good vision at a close distance is required. Must be capable of performing repetitive motion at, above and below shoulder height for up to six (6) hours a day.
