Associate Brand Manager · Emeryville, CA

10-Week Summer Program · June 7 – August 13, 2027

Full-Time / Hybrid

Build a career with flavor at Keurig Dr Pepper! Our MBA Marketing Internship gives first-year business school students the chance to tackle real brand challenges, develop best-in-class marketing skills, and leave a lasting mark on one of our iconic brands. Each intern is assigned an individual stretch project, spanning from brand strategy and consumer insights to data analysis and go-to-market planning, with final recommendations presented to our senior marketing leaders.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Our comprehensive internship experience is built on four pillars of support:

COACHING & FEEDBACK

  • Consistent mentorship and feedback throughout the program
  • Coaching & support from former interns
  • Mid-point & final performance evaluations

HOLISTIC MARKETING TRAINING

  • Marketing fundamentals
  • Analytics & financials
  • Consumer insights
  • Operations & route-to-market
  • Leadership & influencing skills

CULTURE & NETWORKING EVENTS

  • Formal networking events with Marketing leaders
  • ABM roundtable & feedback discussions
  • Leadership coffee chats & happy hours

ACCESS TO LEADERSHIP

  • Executive meet & greets
  • Formal & informal leadership exposure
  • Opportunities to build personal connections across the organization

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As an intern, you will be assigned a project designed to stretch your analytical and strategic thinking. Throughout the summer you will develop and strengthen key managerial competencies with support from a dedicated Project Lead and Mentor.

TRANSFORM DATA TO INSIGHTS

Dive into brand, industry, and consumer data to identify business issues and opportunities. Learn how to use multiple data sources (including tools such as IRI, Numerator, and YouGov) to uncover actionable insights and develop evidence-backed strategic recommendations; and thrive with support from your Data Buddy, a dedicated resource for you throughout the program.

GENERATE FUEL FOR GROWTH

Own and drive your individual summer brand project end-to-end, from initial scoping through final presentation to senior leaders. Work collaboratively with your Project Lead and cross-functional partners to shape your approach, build your story, and develop a fully formed strategic recommendation. Projects span areas such as brand strategy, innovation, digital shelf, consumer insights, and go-to-market planning.

CHAMPION CONSUMER OBSESSED BRAND BUILDING

Develop your understanding of the consumer: who they are, what they need, and how our brands can serve them better. Translate consumer insights into clear, actionable implications that inform your brand project recommendations. Begin building a working knowledge of brand equity fundamentals and what sets our brands apart in the marketplace.

SHAPE BRAND STRATEGY

Contribute to brand planning conversations and assist in developing materials that bring your recommendations to life. Gain exposure to annual brand planning, budgeting processes, strategic frameworks and cross-functional brand alignment under the guidance of your Project Lead.

AMPLIFY IMPACT WITH CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION

Engage with colleagues across Marketing, Consumer Insights, Finance, Innovation, Sales, and Operations to gather input and build a well-rounded business perspective. We challenge each intern to schedule at least five coffee chats with marketers outside of their day-to-day team over the course of the summer.

PRESENT TO MARKETING LEADERSHIP

Deliver a 25–30-minute strategic presentation to senior Marketing leadership covering your key insights, strategic approaches, recommendations, and implementation considerations. Q&A follows. This is your moment to showcase your thinking and the impact of your work.

Requirements
  • Currently enrolled in a two-year, full-time MBA program; must be between your 1st and 2nd year (expected graduation the year following the internship)
  • 3–6 years of full-time, post-undergraduate professional experience
  • Strong analytical aptitude — able to work with data and translate findings into stories and strategic action
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment
  • Marketing concentration is not required but is a plus
  • CPG, beverage, or brand marketing experience is a plus
  • Experience with syndicated marketing research databases (e.g., Circana/IRI, Numerator, YouGov, Mintel) is a plus

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Our ideal intern brings a general manager and challenger mindset with a passion for our brands and our consumers. We evaluate interns across two dimensions:

The "What" — Results

  • Analytical rigor — synthesizes data and develops insight-driven, strategic recommendations
  • Framing & storytelling — frames recommendations into a persuasive, clear narrative
  • Consumer & shopper-driven insights — demonstrates genuine passion for understanding the consumer
  • Strategic thought leadership — thinks critically, combines qualitative and quantitative inputs, and applies brand stewardship principles
  • Balanced priorities — demonstrates growing business acumen and proactively takes ownership

The "How" — Behaviors

  • Cross-functional collaboration — actively engages beyond their immediate team
  • Agility & navigating ambiguity — intellectually curious, quick-thinking, no ego
  • Self-awareness & professional maturity — understands their impact and engages appropriately at all levels
  • Receptive to coaching — takes feedback constructively and uses it to improve in real time
  • Influence & drive for impact — results-oriented, evidence-based, with an enterprise mindset
  • Relationship building — builds authentic connections across the organization
