Lanteris Space is seeking a motivated and skilled Tooling Design Engineer to join our team in Mountain View, CA. In this role, you will be responsible for the design and functioning of tooling related to the fabrication, assembly, and testing of spacecraft structures, panels and central cylinders.

Responsibilities:

• • Create and release necessary documentation to fabricate tooling used in the assembly and test spacecraft structures, panels, and cylinders. Work with assembly spacecraft designers and manufacturing engineering personnel build tooling to ensure the highest quality product is produced in the most efficient manner possible.
  • Work with assembly technicians and engineering personnel to resolve issues that arise in production due to tooling issues.
  • Perform Tooling Procurement duties on backlog and new programs as needed.

Minimum Requirements

• • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering or related field. Four years of additional experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree
  • 2 years of relevant work experience in design
  • Experience with design software
  • General Dimensioning and Tolerancing
  • Ability to use general measurement tooling (calipers, micrometers)
  • Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications

• • Experience in Creo Parametric or Solidworks design software
  • Knowledge of the manufacturing techniques of aerospace structures
  • Experience working with composite cylinders and panels as well as strut assemblies

The successful candidate's starting pay will fall within the salary range provided below and is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions. Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range.
• The base pay for this position within California is: $82,000.00 - $136,000.00 annually.
For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
