Job Description
STRUCTURAL ENGINEER, PERole DescriptionAs a Structural Engineer in this role, you will play a pivotal part in designing, analyzing, and evaluating various building structures. Your daily responsibilities will encompass calculating design loads, material selection, preparation of construction documents, and collaborating with project team members to ensure timely and budget-conscious project delivery. The individual in this role will assist the firm with the creation of a structural engineering department.
Job Requirements
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in ABET-accredited Structural Engineering with a minimum of ten years of relevant experience and a Professional Engineering (PE) License. NCEES records are preferred.
- Proficiency in design software such as SAP2000, RAM Structural System, and REVIT and/or AutoCAD.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external teams.
- Experience in commercial and housing sectors is preferred.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is required; familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) is appreciated.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for assignments (approximately 5%).
- Proficient in report writing, with the ability to develop and adhere to budgets, scopes, and deadlines.
- Outgoing personality with the ability to engage with staff, clients, and business owners.
- Capacity to work independently with sound judgment and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Excellent technical writing abilities.
- Experience in providing direction to structural engineers, technicians, and administrative staff.
- Ability to review shop drawings and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs).
