Description

Our dynamic and successful Structures Group is seeking a full-time Structural Engineer / Design Lead. This position would be based in our Minneapolis, MN, Fargo, ND, or Madison, WI office. As a Structural Engineer / Design Lead, you would be responsible for the design and/or management of structural engineering and design for public infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of structural designs and engineering analyses for projects of varying size and complexity, utilizing advanced engineering principles, analysis software, and industry-standard methodologies.
  • Provide technical leadership in the preparation and review of construction plans, specifications, and design documents to ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and client requirements.
  • Oversee construction administration activities, including coordinating and conducting field inspections, resolving design-related issues, and providing guidance during project delivery.
  • Direct the preparation of engineering reports, quantity estimates, design details, and contract documents while mentoring junior staff in technical and project execution activities.
  • Lead bridge inspection and load rating efforts, which will require travel.
  • Ensure SRF's quality procedures are maintained for all work.
  • Additional duties as assigned.


Requirements

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited school with and emphasis in structural engineering. Master's degree is a plus.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer or the ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • 6 or more years of Structural Engineering experience in bridge design preferred.
  • Experience on a variety of state and local engineering projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to develop and produce construction plans and documents using AutoDesk or Bentley design software.
  • Enthusiastic, with a strong work ethic and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Salary: $100,000 - $130,000

Compensation is determined by various factors, including education, experience, skills, job location, internal equity, market analysis, and specific qualifications relevant to the role.
