Full Job Description
Structural Engineer 3 to support our Englewood, CO office.

Purpose and Scope:
Perform a variety of engineering assignments in planning and overseeing research, development, design, manufacture, test, installation, operation, and maintenance of diverse electronic/mechanical equipment and systems and generally as a member of a design, analysis or review team on more complex assignments or as a lead on less complex assignments.

Essential Responsibilities:
1. Perform a range of design development, analysis or review tasks under minimal supervision.

2. Act as a lead on less complex tasks and responsible for a portion of a design or section of an analysis or design review.

3. Generate complete design specifications of more complex projects.

4. Coordinate and work closely with other engineering, logistics, financial, and program management disciplines to define system specifications and requirements.

5. Establish and maintain a filing system or databases as needed for tracking project status.

6. Develop, maintain and produce technical documentation and system/subsystem specifications.

7. Direct interface and liaison with customers at all levels from quotation to final design and test activities, design reviews and technical working group meetings to comply with requirements and specifications.

8. Conduct site visits, experimental investigations and analyze engineering problems, propose solutions and alternatives, and provide recommendations.

9. Verify and comply with engineering documentation standards and test procedures.

10. Support development of technical proposal and provide comments on the technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of work.

Minimum Requirements

- US Citizen

- Bachelors degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering with a structural emphasis (or equivalent education).

- 5+ years of relevant and progressive professional experience in the modeling, analysis, and design of heavy industrial steel structures and foundations.

- Works independently and collaboratively with guidance and direction from others.

- Working knowledge of industry codes and standards, including AISC 360, ASCE 7, IBC, and ACI 318

- Good oral and written communication skills.

- In-Depth knowledge of STAAD.Pro modeling, analysis, design, and post processing

- In-Depth knowledge and expertise in MathCad, Excel, and Word

- Ability to obtain a security clearance.

- In-Depth knowledge of the process of preparing and checking calculations, as well as, approval, revision, retention, and storage of project calculations.

- In-Depth knowledge of drawing production and checking, as well as, approval, revision, retention, and storage of engineering drawings.

Preferred Qualifications

- Professional Engineer Registration

- Master of Science degree in structural engineering.

- Government or nuclear experience, i.e., DOD, DOE, NR.

- Working knowledge of AISC Seismic Design Provisions, i.e., AISC 341.

- Working knowledge of nuclear facility design codes including ACI 349, AISC N690, ASCE 43, and DOE-STD-1020.

- Experience in construction and procurment support reviewing vendor submittals and shop drawings, dispositioniing RFI's and NCR's.

- Experience in the analysis and design of structural steel modules and design for transportation loading by either rail, barge, or truck.

- Basic knowledge of seismic response spectrum analysis.

- Basic knowledge of ANSYS analysis software.

Compensation & Benefits:

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $95K - $135K (Annually) (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
