The Opportunity

We are looking for a Structural Design Engineer to join our Greenville office and support its continued growth. This role is a great opportunity for an engineer with structural engineering experience who is ready to take on meaningful project responsibilities, contribute to the design of load-bearing structures, structural elements, and structural systems, and be part of a collaborative engineering team.

In this role, you will work closely with project managers, senior engineers, and design team members to develop drawings and specifications for construction, support practical engineering solutions, and help ensure projects comply with applicable codes and regulations.

What You'll Do

  • Design structural systems for a variety of project types, including manufacturing, industrial, commercial, distribution, historical, public sector, higher education, and K-12 projects.
  • Support both new construction and adaptive reuse/renovation projects, including analysis of existing structures.
  • Perform structural analysis using modeling software and apply applicable building codes and jurisdiction-specific requirements.
  • Prepare structural drawings, specifications, studies, reports, and technical documentation for review by senior engineers and in alignment with QA/QC standards.
  • Coordinate with engineers, design technicians, architects, contractors, clients, and other disciplines to support accurate, high-quality project deliverables.
  • Assist with site visits, existing facility assessments, structural surveys, investigations, construction milestone walkthroughs, and field visit reports.
  • Support construction administration and project communication through shop drawing reviews, RFI responses, meeting participation, and technical proposal/RFI response support.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Structural engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in structural engineering
  • PE licensure or on track to obtain PE licensure in near future
  • Experience with masonry, wind design, wood design, and/or other specialized structural systems
  • Experience with industry standard software, including but not limited to Microsoft products, Revit, RISA, Bentley (RAM) products, EnerCalc, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Word, Excel, or other programming experience


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Structural Engineering or a related field
  • SE licensure or on track to obtain SE licensure in future
  • Experience in steel and concrete design in low to mid-rise structures with shallow foundation systems. Masonry, deep foundation, and wood design is a plus
  • Experience supporting business development through proposal development, technical content, or responses to RFIs/RFPs
