Full Job Description
Fast-growing, AI-first startup building purpose-built technology for the banking industry is looking for a Strategy & Operations Manager, AI Systems to be one of the first members of its growing Strategy & Ops team. Led by a tight-knit team that has built and scaled companies together for nearly a decade, this is a rare chance to help build an operating function from the ground up as the company closes its next round and opens its NYC headquarters. In this generalist role, you'll work alongside the COO on company-wide priorities while serving as the team's "librarian," building AI-powered workflows that turn the flow of information across Slack, Notion, and other tools into short, reliable updates that leadership can act on. Someone who is a hands-on builder with real AI fluency, an excellent writer who can turn noise into clarity, and a scrappy, ownership-driven operator who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment. This role is in-office 5 days/week in Midtown Manhattan starting January. 160-180K DOE + opportunity for equity or bonus, benefits, 401K, and flexible PTO.
Responsibilities:
Act as a right hand to the COO on company-wide priorities, turning loose ideas into structured plans and seeing them through.
Partner with leaders across Engineering, Growth, Forward Deployed Engineering, and Product to keep priorities, resourcing, and budgets aligned.
Design and build AI workflows, using tools like Claude, that pull from Slack, Notion, and the HR system and produce short, reliable updates for leadership.
Build an always-on Slack tool that summarizes scorecard data and the most critical items ahead of weekly leadership meetings.
Organize Notion and other knowledge bases so information is easy to find, trust, and reuse.
Audit Slack channels to determine which still make sense, who should be in them, how they're used, and who actually needs to read them.
Set and document conventions for how the team shares information, including channel use and priority labels.
Identify repetitive administrative work across the company and automate it.
Qualifications:
Hands-on AI fluency, with experience building AI-powered workflows, automations, or tools yourself, not just using a chatbot.
Background in management consulting, a high-growth startup, or business operations.
Strong at building structured presentations, plans, and operating materials.
Comfortable working with budgets, KPIs, OKRs, and scorecards.
Excellent writer and editor with the ability to turn a lot of noise into a few clear sentences.
Thrives in a fast, scrappy, close-knit environment and takes ownership without being asked.
Clear, concise communicator who works well async in Slack.
Experience designing how information flows through a team, such as knowledge bases, reporting, dashboards, or internal tools, is a plus.
Experience with Notion, Slack, and Rippling, including their integrations and APIs, is a plus.
Light scripting (Python or JavaScript) or experience with automation tools such as Zapier or Make is a plus.
Experience as a senior or organizational EA who has owned KPIs and OKRs, supported budgets, and prepped leadership meetings is a plus.
