Summary

The Strategic Sourcing Manager Americas is responsible for developing and managing the implementation of procurement strategies for the assigned commodity portfolios in alignment with the Global Group Procurement strategy. These strategies are established in collaboration with the Vice President of Production, Americas, the Senior Director Global Procurement and the Global Heads for each assigned commodity. The Strategic Sourcing Manager Americas reports directly to the Vice President of Production, Americas with strong dotted line to the Senior Director Global Procurement and bears full responsibility for agreed upon goals and objectives.

What You'll Do

  • Strategic Sourcing & Category Management: Develop and implement regional procurement strategies for both direct materials (e.g., raw materials) and indirect spend (e.g., IT, facilities, marketing).
  • Vendor Relationship Management: Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers. They manage ongoing supplier performance through scorecards and regular business reviews.
  • Contract Negotiation: Lead complex negotiations to secure favorable terms, pricing, and service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a primary point of contact for regional leadership and internal departments (Finance, Legal, HR) to align procurement with business requirements.
  • Risk & Compliance Management: Identify supply chain risks, such as shortages or ethical concerns, and ensure all activities comply with local laws and corporate policies.
  • Financial & KPI Tracking: Monitor key metrics like cost savings, purchase price variance, and on-time delivery to report on regional performance.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of buyers or procurement specialists across multiple locations. Responsible for managing the Americas Procurement Engineering team, and associated projects.
  • Global Alignment: Act as the key point of coordination between Global Commodity Managers and Procurement Engineers in the Americas, ensuring alignment and successful implementation of new and existing Procurement Engineering initiatives.


Who You Are

  • Education: A bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Engineering, post graduate degrees welcomed.
  • Experience: 10+ years in leading a procurement or supply chain management team with at least 2-5 years in a globally aligned team.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems like SAP, enhanced data analysis skills (Excel, Power BI).
  • Certifications: Professional credentials such as CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) o r CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) preferred.
  • Soft Skills: Strong negotiation, cross-cultural communication, and the ability to work with remote teams.


Belimo is committed to paying all employees in a fair, equitable and transparent manner. The base pay for this position ranges from $155,000 - $170,000 annually with a target performance bonus of 20% of an employee's annual base salary. Compensation is based on several factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, education and experience. Belimo is a total compensation company which includes a comprehensive benefits package including a full range of medical, financial, and other competitive benefits.
