Description
The Strategic Bomber SME provides authoritative expertise on strategic bomber platforms and operations in direct support of USSTRATCOM's campaign and risk assessment mission. The selected candidate will serve as the resident technical expert on B-1, B-2, B-52, and/or B-21 operations, applying deep operational knowledge to assess strategic deterrence effectiveness and inform senior leadership decision-making at the Combatant Command level.

Position Overview
The Strategic Bomber SME provides authoritative expertise on strategic bomber platforms and operations in direct support of USSTRATCOM's campaign and risk assessment mission. The selected candidate will serve as the resident technical expert on B-1, B-2, B-52, and/o
Maintain working knowledge of policy and strategy guidance including the National Security Strategy, National Defense Strategy, Nuclear Posture Review, National Military Strategy, Unified Command Plan, and relevant Global Campaign Plans and Operations Plans.
Support the identification of estimated, intended, and/or resultant cost/benefit of U.S. operations, activities, and investments relating to strategic air forces toward shaping the strategic environment.
Provide recommendations to improve force integration, resource allocation, and strategic alignment for bomber forces within the broader nuclear deterrence enterprise.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 15 years of practical B-1, B-2, B-52, and/or B-21 experience as a commissioned officer.
Minimum 3 years of experience working at the Office of the Secretary of War, Joint Staff, Combatant Command, service, MAJCOM, or equivalent.
Master's degree or higher.
Joint Professional Military Education (JPME) Phase 2 graduate.
Senior Service School graduate (e.g., Air War College, Naval War College, Army War College, or equivalent).
Weapons School graduate (e.g., USAF Weapons School or equivalent).
Air Operations Center (AOC) experience.
Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance with eligibility for NC2/ESI and Special Access Program (SAP) access, obtainable within 30 days of task order award.
Preferred Qualifications
Direct experience supporting USSTRATCOM exercises, assessments, or operations planning.
Familiarity with the Joint Risk Assessment Methodology (JRAM) and deterrence theory.
Experience with Combatant Command-level campaign plan development or Global Campaign Plan assessments.
Prior contractor or government civilian experience in a defense advisory capacity.
