DescriptionThe purpose of this position is to plan, manage, and coordinate activities involving construction, improvement, and maintenance of county drainage systems, including road drainage projects, channel projects, water quality projects, and pipe installations.
Examples of DutiesThe essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.- Coordinates, assigns and reviews work and establishes work schedules; maintains standards; monitors status of work in progress; inspects completed work assignments; answers questions; gives advice and direction as needed.
- Ensures that compliance inspections are being conducted in a thorough and timely manner.
- Conducts erosion control plans reviews and complete quality control checks of Technician plan reviews.
- Prepares monthly report.
- Assures that the Sedimentation and Erosion Control Ordinance is being correctly enforced.
- Provides general oversight of Stormwater and Erosion Control Technicians.
- Performs related work as assigned.
Typical QualificationsMINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:- Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent.
- Requires over ten years of related experience.
SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES:- OSHA 10.
- FEMA 100 200 700 800.
- Hazardous material OSHA level 2 training.
- Must possess and maintain a valid state Class A commercial driver's license with an acceptable driving history.
