Current Saint Francis Colleagues - Please click HERE to login and apply.JOB SUMMARYThe Sterile Compounding Coordinator is accountable for leadership and oversight of the health care system's sterile compounding program across all assigned locations, cleanrooms, shifts, and applicable service lines. The role leads the quality management system for compounded sterile preparations, promotes safe and reliable medication preparation, and ensures sustained compliance with organizational, regulatory, and accreditation requirements.
The coordinator directs operational standards for IV-room workflow, cleanroom practices, environmental monitoring, training and competency, technology, documentation, and quality assurance in accordance with USP , USP , Missouri Board of Pharmacy requirements, The Joint Commission, other applicable accrediting bodies, and organizational policy.
The coordinator serves as the department's subject matter expert and provides functional direction to pharmacists and pharmacy technicians engaged in sterile compounding. The role collaborates with Pharmacy leadership, Quality, Infection Prevention, Facilities, Environmental Services, Occupational Health, Nursing, Information Technology, and other stakeholders to advance safety, performance, and continuous regulatory readiness.
JOB DETAILS AND REQUIREMENTSTime Type: Full Time, 80 hours per two-week pay period, with benefits
Typical Hours: Day Shift
Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited school or college of pharmacy- required
- Doctor of Pharmacy degree- preferred
License/Certification:
Unrestricted pharmacist licensure in Missouri required upon hire. Additional pharmacist licensure must be obtained and maintained within the timeframe established by Pharmacy leadership when responsibilities extend to another state- required
Experience:
- Minimum of three (3) years of hospital pharmacy experience- required
- Minimum of two (2) years of sterile compounding experience in an acute care or health system setting- required
- Demonstrated leadership, supervisory, or project management experience. Demonstrated leadership of a sterile compounding, quality, regulatory, operational, or project portfolio, including the ability to direct work, influence interdisciplinary stakeholders, and sustain corrective actions; formal supervisory experience- preferred
