Salary range: A reasonable salary estimate for this position is $88,300. The posted UC academic salary scales (https://www.ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/compensation/2025-26-academic-salary-scales.html) set the minimum pay determined by level at appointment. Position description

The Department of Mathematics ( Department of Mathematics, UC San Diego ), within the School of Physical Sciences at the University of California, San Diego, is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff and student body. We invite applications for our Stefan E. Warschawski Math Fellowships in all areas of Mathematics, Statistics, and related topics. All positions are subject to availability of funding. These positions are aimed at new and recent PhDs whose work demonstrates strong potential in mathematical research. These positions are three-year nonrenewable appointments.

Teaching in Mathematics, Statistics, and related topics will be expected, and the teaching load is four quarter courses per year. Lecture courses will be at the undergraduate upper and lower division levels.

Total duration of an individual's postdoctoral service may not exceed five years, including postdoctoral service at other institutions. The International Union, United Automobile, Aerospace and Agricultural Implement Workers of America (UAW) is the exclusive representative of the postdoctoral scholars.
