Position Profile

Weaver's State and Local Tax team is looking for Income & Franchise Tax Senior Associates or Supervisor to join their growing practice. This team member will provide tax compliance and consulting services specific to state and local taxes, including income and franchise tax. Income & Franchise Tax Senior Associates or Supervisor identify complex tax issues and provide tax analysis for a variety of entities and their affiliates. Their primary responsibilities include working on various Income & Franchise tax returns, complex Income & Franchise tax audits, and preparing complex tax research projects for clients in diverse industries. The ideal candidate is a team player who exhibits initiative, communicates effectively, and manages multiple concurrent assignments of varying sizes and complexity. A Weaver team member enjoys flexibility, meaningful and diverse client work within a supportive and innovative work environment.

To be successful in this role, the following qualifications are required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • Team orientation and strong interpersonal skills
  • CPA candidate or pursuing the CMI
  • 2+ years of experience in public accounting or industry
  • Experience preparing income & franchise tax audit and refund schedules, and preparing multi-state income tax returns including Texas Franchise Tax returns

Additionally, the following qualifications are preferred:
  • Master's degree in Accounting or related field
  • Strong project management skills
  • CPA or CMI
