Transformation, Functional Excellence & Safety (TFE&S) is seeking a talented individual to join the Hardware (HW) Factory Team as the Standards and Engagement Lead.

What You Will Be Doing:
In this role, you will be responsible for aligning HW activities and process development to the right external organizations and standards. This involves both ensuring adherence to existing industry specifications and helping to drive early involvement and shaping for new specifications. You will report to the Sr Manager of the HW Factory.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management
  • Monitor development activities across aligned external organizations and plan Lockheed Martin level support for various working groups, committees, and other engagements
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to identify and align subject matter experts
  • Manage internal budget for cross-business area level engagement and travel
  • Oversee engagement rhythm with external organizations

Team Leadership
  • Provide guidance and oversight to internal and external multidisciplinary teams of engineers, data scientists, manufacturing engineers, and domain experts.
  • Build a high performing, collaborative culture focused on results and continuous improvement.

Stakeholder Engagement
  • Collaborate with cross-BA leadership providing progress updates while receiving feedback on challenges and areas of opportunity
  • Interface with the broad operations and engineering community (manufacturing/operations, supply chain, sustainment)
  • Partner with Functional Excellence to align external efforts with internal cross-BA tools, talent, and process scope

Technical Oversight
  • Advise on alignment and prioritization of external organizations and specifications related to hardware factory activities
  • Provide direct support to select external engagements

Further Information About This Opportunity:

This role is fully remote but will require some travel (up to 25%) based on business needs and industry engagements. US Citizenship is required due to program requirements.

Basic Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to work with external standards organizations aligned to hardware development such as ASME, IEEE, IPC, and SAE.
  • Experience with full HW lifecycle
  • Expertise in multiple HW engineering standards and their application within the design and development process
  • Project or program management experience
  • Demonstrated networking and collaborative skill at an organizational level
  • US Citizenship is required due to system access


Desired Skills

  • Direct engineering design experience in one or more critical hardware components such as circuit card assemblies, cables/wiring harnesses, and machined components
  • Strong strategic thinking and business acumen; ability to translate high-level goals into actionable plans.

Pay Information

GeoZone Definition: GeoZones are geographic groupings created by Lockheed Martin to align compensation ranges with regional labor markets and cost-of-labor differences across the United States. Locations are assigned a Geo Zone based on the primary work location of the role.
  • Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 1): $161300.00 - $299500.00
    • Includes metropolitan areas such as Sunnyvale CA; Pal Alto, CA; New York City metropolitan area; Newark, New Jersey; etc.
  • Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 2): $145100.00 - $269500.00
    • Includes metropolitan areas such as Denver, CO; King of Prussia, PA; Stratford, CT; Moorestown, NJ; etc.
  • Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 3): $129000.00 - $239600.00
    • Includes metropolitan areas such as Dallas-Fort Worth, TX; Orlando, FL; Grand Prairie, TX; Marietta, GA; etc.
  • Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 4): $116100.00 - $215700.00
    • Includes metropolitan areas such as Camden, AR; Lexington, KY; Lufkin, TX; etc.

  • Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
