About the RoleWe're looking for a Staff Technical Program Manager to lead hardware programs that pair connected security devices with the subscription services built on top of them. You'll work in partnership with APAC-based joint design manufacturing (JDM) and other development and manufacturing partners, owning the program from concept through EVT, DVT, PVT, and mass production. This role includes occasional travel to the APAC region and periodic evening calls to align with partner teams across time zones.
What you'll do- Run waterfall, stage-gate hardware development schedules (ID, ME, EE, schematic, layout, PCBA, tooling, mold) while coordinating with connected software and cloud teams working in Scrum or other Agile methods, translating between the two planning approaches to keep milestones aligned.
- Manage APAC-based JDM and other development and manufacturing partners end to end, from design reviews through EVT, DVT, PVT, and production ramp, including on-site engagement at key program milestones.
- Interface regularly with supply chain, strategic sourcing, production planning, quality, reliability, and regulatory/compliance managers to keep programs on track from component sourcing through certification and general availability.
- Facilitate technical trade-offs between short-term engineering needs and long-term business goals, and communicate program progress, risks, and recommendations clearly at all levels, including executive leadership.
- Define technical and product requirements for engineering teams; negotiate resources and priorities, escalate effectively, and find a path forward in difficult situations.
- Rally support across diverse, deeply technical teams to keep complex, cross-functional programs on track and proactively remove roadblocks.
- Identify and drive opportunities to improve engineering efficiency and predictability, establishing delivery metrics that make progress visible to leadership.
What you'll bring- 5+ years of experience working with engineering teams in technical program management, systems architecture, or software/hardware engineering
- 5+ years of experience managing the technical development lifecycle from concept to delivery, with demonstrated program management best practices
- Experience managing APAC-based JDM, ODM, or contract manufacturing partners through the hardware NPI lifecycle, including on-site engagement during key program phases
- Experience delivering connected hardware devices paired with a subscription or cloud service, coordinating release schedules across hardware, firmware, software, and cloud teams
- Demonstrated ability to manage waterfall, stage-gate hardware schedules (Gantt, Smartsheet, or similar tools) while interfacing effectively with software and cloud teams running Scrum or other Agile methodologies
- Willingness to travel occasionally to the APAC region and join partner calls scheduled in the evening to accommodate time zone overlap
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Mathematics, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field - or equivalent work experience
Nice to have- Experience partnering with supply chain, strategic sourcing, production planning, quality, and reliability/regulatory teams on component sourcing, certification, and manufacturing ramp
- Track record running executive-level program reviews and escalations across hardware, software, and manufacturing stakeholders
- Knowledge of IoT and security hardware, with comfort working across hardware, firmware, software, and cloud teams
What Values You'll Share- Customer Obsessed - Building deep empathy for our customers, putting them at the core of our work, and developing strong, long-term relationships with them.
- Aim High - Always challenging ourselves and others to raise the bar.
