Job DescriptionDewberry is seeking a Staff Structural (Bridge) Engineer to work in its Boston, MA office. The successful candidate will be part of a team designing simple and complex bridges (primarily of steel and concrete construction) and a variety of transportation related structures (retaining walls, culverts, sign structures, and other miscellaneous structures) using applicable software. The candidate will also be involved in the development of contract plans, the preparation of engineer's estimates and construction specifications, and performing construction support services. Responsibilities
- Plans and coordinates aspects of work, and performs analysis and design.
- Prepares scope, budgets, and schedules for assignments.
- Assists with proposals to provide professional services.
- Work outdoors in diverse weather conditions, at heights, in confined spaces, over water and in close proximity to traffic.
- Working skill in the use of various inspection instruments.
- Job entails conducting site visits around New England, coordinating all design aspects with other departments, tracking the progress of projects, and construction control and inspection.
- Additional responsibilities can include shop drawing review, bridge/tunnel inspection team member, inspection report assembly, and building modification designs.
Required Skills & Required Experience
- BS in Engineering with a minimum of 2 years of bridge engineering experience.
- EIT preferred
- Ability to perform field inspections
- Preference for knowledge of STAAD, MathCad, Tedds, RISA, or similar analysis programs.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office are required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work in a team environment

Salary Range
The projected range for this position is $74,900 to $96,300 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly. These ranges are for Boston, MA only.
