  • Coordinate cross-functional activities to mitigate product risks and improve customer satisfaction.

General Summary:

As a Qualcomm Customer Quality Engineer, you will establish a close relationship with our data center customers, lead all quality communications with them, internally drive resolutions for their reported problems and be the voice of the customer to the internal teams.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 3+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.
  • 4+ years technical and business customer communications
  • 2+ years of experience dealing with suppliers in driving issues resolutions
  • 2+ year in a technical leadership role with or without direct reports.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead conference calls and F2F meetings with Customers related to quality
  • Track Customer quality metrics with regular reporting to the customer and internal management
  • Coordinate and participate in Customer audits
  • Assimilate communicated technical details:
    • (a) Understand the critical elements of the issue and provide direction to the working team
    • (b) Assess the results from various technical activities and formulate responses to customers with quality and customer goals in mind
  • Interface with Customers, Integrators and Partners onsite at their location to support problem solving and issue resolution as needed
  • Craft customer presentations covering containment, root cause, risk assessments, corrective actions, preventative actions and recovery plans for complaints
  • Work cross functionally among internal organizations, coordinating activities to assess product risk, drive problem solving and achieve continuous improvement, increasing customer satisfaction


Level of Responsibility:
  • Works independently with minimal supervision.
  • Provides supervision/guidance to other team members.
  • Decision-making is significant in nature and affects work beyond immediate work group.
  • Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey complex information. May require negotiation, influence, tact, etc.
  • Influence key organizational decisions.


Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:
$134,800.00 - $202,200.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
