Staff Power Systems EngineerWe're looking for a highly skilled Staff Power Systems Engineer to serve as a technical leader and subject matter expert for electrical power distribution systems and facility electrical infrastructure. In this role, you'll help shape the future of our manufacturing operations by improving system reliability, leading modernization initiatives, developing engineering standards, and providing technical leadership on complex infrastructure projects.

What You'll Do...- Serve as the technical authority for industrial electrical power distribution systems and facility infrastructure.
- Lead complex electrical infrastructure projects from concept through design, construction, commissioning, startup, and operational handoff.
- Develop electrical infrastructure roadmaps, modernization strategies, and capital improvement recommendations.
- Establish and maintain engineering standards, specifications, testing requirements, and commissioning criteria.
- Review and approve major electrical designs, studies, and equipment applications.
- Lead technical evaluations of switchgear, transformers, substations, protection systems, and other critical electrical equipment.
- Oversee arc flash, short-circuit, protection coordination, load flow, and power quality studies.
- Partner with electric utilities on reliability, capacity planning, service upgrades, and interconnection projects.
- Mentor engineers and technical staff while driving best practices in reliability, safety, and electrical system performance.
What We're Looking For...- Requires one of the following:
- Master's in electrical engineering with a preference for power systems emphasis and ten (10) years of engineering related experience.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with demonstrated strategic leadership of power system design and management and fifteen (15) years of engineering related experience.
- Advanced knowledge and demonstrated mastery of electrical engineering principles, power distribution system design, protection, reliability, grounding, metering, equipment application, and facility electrical infrastructure
- Advanced knowledge of medium-voltage and low-voltage industrial and manufacturing distribution systems, including topology, redundancy, protective devices, and major electrical equipment
- Experience performing, directing, or interpreting arc flash, short-circuit, protective device coordination, load-flow, power quality, and related studies using tools such as SKM, ETAP, or EasyPower
- Advanced knowledge of applicable electrical codes and standards, including NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, IEEE, ANSI, IEC, and OSHA electrical safety requirements
- Ability to evaluate complex electrical system problems, compare technical alternatives, communicate risks and tradeoffs, and recommend practical solutions
- Ability to prioritize and organize long-term infrastructure programs, project roadmaps, deadlines, technical tasks, and cross-functional work in team and independent environments
- Experience supporting construction, commissioning, startup, outage coordination, operational turnover, procurement support, technical bid evaluations, and project closeout for major electrical infrastructure projects
- Experience developing specifications and reviewing or directing work by electric utilities, consulting engineers, contractors, equipment suppliers, facility teams, external providers, and senior stakeholders
- Strong verbal and written communication skills needed to explain complex technical information, influence decisions, and create reports, documents, presentations, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office
- Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
- Ability to successfully prioritize, and organize long-term, complex research and development projects, deadlines, and tasks in both team and independent environments
- Professional Engineer (PE) license, preferred.
Location & Travel...This position is located at Dart's Corporate Headquarters in Mason, MI. The successful candidate will support electrical infrastructure projects across multiple manufacturing facilities and should be comfortable working in office, plant, warehouse, utility, and construction environments. Travel of up to 40%, including domestic and international travel, is required. Relocation assistance is available for candidates moving to the Mason, MI area.
