Responsibilities

  • Compile project-related data, studies, and write specifications as needed.
  • Update drawings based on feedback from senior engineers using multiple CAD software.
  • Perform field inspections and calculations for various clients.

Description
  • Engineers in Training (EIT) Certification preferred.

The Staff Pipeline Engineer will work on project teams to create world-class designs for new projects, alterations, and redevelopments across a variety of pipeline projects, including transmission and distribution pipelines. The Staff Pipeline Engineer will work with the project team throughout the design and construction process, adapting pipeline plans according to budget constraints, design factors, or client needs.
  • Perform pipeline design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion.
  • Modify and review production drawings for a variety of projects, including but not limited to projects including pipeline projects, including transmission & distribution pipelines.
  • Design pipeline components for project needs and requirements that are set forth by the project managers.
  • Apply strong knowledge of commonly used pipeline engineering/design concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures within the pipeline engineering services industry.
  • Research and compile project-related data as required by the project managers. Compile studies and reports. Write specifications. Assess feasibility or soundness of proposed applications when data is insufficient, or testing is advisable.
  • Update drawings provided by senior engineers to verify corrections are made within multiple CAD-related software.
  • Compile information for client presentations, shop drawing review, and contract administration for the design of pipeline projects, including transmission & distribution pipelines.
  • Perform field inspections, measurements, or calculations for public and private clients.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all policies and standards.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering, or a related degree from an ABET-accredited program and 3 years of pipeline engineering experience required; consulting preferred.
  • Or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering Technology or related degree from an ABET-accredited program, successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, and 3 years of pipeline engineering experience required, consulting preferred.
  • Or Master's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering and 2 years of pipeline engineering experience required, consulting preferred.
  • Strong knowledge in standard pipeline engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrate critical thinking skills.
  • Strong computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Strong computer skills (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation, ATF).
  • Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Engineers in Training (EIT) Certification preferred.
