The Staff Nurse in the Emergency Room provides professional nursing care to people of all ages and their families. Utilizes knowledge of nursing process to assess, plan, intervene, evaluate and document care. Formulates nursing diagnosis for treating actual or potential health problems, teaching, counseling and providing care in the emergency setting. Delegates appropriate tasks to assistive nursing personnel. Displays professional practice as set forth in The Brooklyn Hospital Center's standard of care, and the institution's mission and goal objectives.
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited colleges or universities - HIGHLY PREFERRED.
- Minimum of one (1) year emergency room experience
- Current New York State Licensed Registered Professional Nurse
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
- Current Advanced Life Support (ACLS)
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training and/or certification to be completed within 90 days of hire and every two years thereafter
