ABOUT THE ROLEAnduril's Fury team builds cutting-edge defense hardware in Columbus, Ohio, including flight vehicles, static equipment, and moving ground equipment, as part of the effort to rebuild the arsenal. You will rapidly iterate and industrialize aircraft-class hardware from prototype through rate.
Fury is Anduril's autonomous air vehicle (a Collaborative Combat Aircraft) designed to fly alongside crewed fighters. Manufacturing Fury means aircraft structures, composites, and complex electromechanical integration at scale.
ABOUT THE JOBYou will be the technical authority who architects factory-scale manufacturing for Fury, spanning aircraft-class structures, composites, and complex integration at scale, setting the standard the whole line follows and driving the hardest structural and integration problems to ground.
WHAT YOU'LL DO- Architect the industrialization of Fury hardware at scale, including factory layout, capacity models, and rate strategy for aircraft-class structures.
- Set DFM, DFX, and process standards that others follow, and design novel tooling and automation strategy for structural fabrication and assembly.
- Own the manufacturing-systems backbone (MES, quality systems, and documentation at scale), and qualify contract-manufacturer processes.
- Lead root-cause on the most systemic issues and prevent recurrence across products.
- Mentor and grow the ME team and multiply the bench's technical capability.
- Partner across design, quality, PM, and supply chain to define the operating model, working from first principles amid ambiguity.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR- 12+ years in manufacturing engineering, including rate and scale production, preferably in aerospace or aircraft structures.
- Has architected a production line or factory, or led a major systems rollout such as MES, and is a recognized technical authority.
- Deep DFM, tooling, composites and structures, and capacity or factory-scale expertise, with strong influence without authority.
- BS in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience, plus proficiency in CAD, ERP, and MES.
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Composites and advanced manufacturing at scale, plus automation and robotics.
- Hands-on experience with R/C or autonomous flight systems, plus factory-standup experience.
