Northrop Grumman Mission Systems has multiple openings for Staff Hardware-Integrated Product Team (IPT) Leads to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals. These positions are located in Baltimore, MD.

This individual will lead a cross-discipline engineering team typically greater than 10 people for a medium to high-risk project and interface with Engineering & Program Management, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Mission Assurance.

Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Lead and direct cross-functional hardware engineering teams during proposal, design, manufacturing, and delivery phases of products in development and production phases
  • Support proposal development and new program acquisition efforts
  • Interpret statements of work assigned by program leadership
  • Develop and execute project budgets and schedules, including Earned Value Management System (EVMS), critical path management, Estimates-at-Completion (EACs), and workload forecasts
  • Interface with functional departments to secure team staffing
  • Work with suppliers and be able to articulate project requirements
  • Brief internal and customer leadership on progress of work assigned
  • Perform in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings.


This role is contingent upon candidates having a current/active Secret Clearance.

This role is contingent upon Program Award.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or STEM-related discipline with (12) years of related experience, or Master's Degree and (10) years of related experience.
  • Must have a current/active Secret Clearance. Secret Clearance is required to start. Must be able to maintain this level of clearance for continued employment.
  • 4 years of Experience as Hardware Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead, Technical lead, or other leadership role in a program office or business function with demonstrated team building, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • 4 years of Engineering leadership experience in a team environment
  • 4 years of experience in the Hardware Design, Manufacturing or Test process
  • 4 years of experience with developing and executing project schedules


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in hardware development of complex RF or Digital systems and sub-systems
  • Experience with certification as a Control Account Manager (CAM) managing Earned Value Management System (EVMS) projects
  • The selected candidates are expected to be self-motivated, highly organized, and detail oriented and possess effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experienced in utilizing the Engineering Design Process for the planning and execution of projects.
  • PMP certification
  • Active and current Top Secret government clearance


Primary Level Salary Range: $169,000.00 - $253,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
