Please review the job details below.Lanteris Space LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Intuitive Machines, is seeking a Staff Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) Engineer to support our GNC 300 product line in Palo Alto, CA. In this role, you will independently design, analyze, and test GNC algorithms and orbital analysis for various spacecraft missions .
Responsibilities:Technical Analysis & Support:
- Independently perform analysis of spacecraft attitude control system performance
- Conduct simulation and modeling of GNC algorithms
- Analyze telemetry data from on-orbit spacecraft
Design & Development:
- Develop GNC flight software components
- Create and validate MATLAB/Simulink models
- Generate technical documentation and analysis reports
- Develop test scripts and automation tools
- Contribute to architectural and design decisions
Testing & Validation:
- Perform GNC hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) testing activities
- Develop sensor models (gyroscopes, star trackers, magnetometers, etc.)
- Develop actuator models (reaction wheels, CMGs, magnetic torque rods, thrusters)
- Prepare test procedures and data analysis scripts
- Document test results and investigate anomalies
Collaboration & Mentorship:
- Participate in design reviews and team meetings
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Flight Software, Systems Engineering, etc.)
- Present findings to engineering teams
- Mentor junior engineers
Minimum Requirements:- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace (Space), Astronautics, Mechanical (Dynamics), Electrical (Controls), Physics (Astrodynamics, Orbits), Applied Math or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5 years of related industry experience in spacecraft GNC systems, Master's degree may count for 2 years of experience. PHD may count for 2 years of experience.
- Understanding of GNC principles and orbital mechanics
- Experience with full lifecycle GNC development
Technical Skills:- Proficiency with C/C++/MATLAB/Simulink/Python/Julia
- Experience with Git/Gitlab-Github, Linux/Windows, AWS Pipelines

The successful candidate's starting pay will fall within the salary range provided below and is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions. Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range.
• The base pay for this position within California is: $117,000.00 - $195,000.00 annually.
For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
