Full Job Description
RELOCATION ASSISTANCE: Relocation assistance may be available CLEARANCE REQUIRED FOR START: Yes CLEARANCE TYPE: Interim Secret TRAVEL: Yes, 10% of the Time Staff Reliability Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our MDC2 Product Support of organization. This role is located onsite in Melbourne, FL. In this role you will support the E-2D Hawkeye Program designing readiness and cost improvement solutions for aircraft sustainment in a performance based environment. Reliability Engineering Analysis will include the following: - Candidate will be able to apply advanced technical expertise and have full knowledge of other related disciplines. They will be able to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings. It is expected that a successful candidate will work on unusually complex technical problems and provide solutions which are highly innovative. Work will be performed under consultative direction toward predetermined long-range goals and objectives. Assignments are often self-initiated. Determine and pursue courses of action necessary to obtain desired results. The candidate will guide a project to completion, and function as the project lead. They will serve as organization spokesperson on advanced projects and/or programs. Individual acts as advisor to management and customers on advanced technical research studies and applications. - Candidate will be responsible for the project requirements associated with the establishment of hardware reliability design criteria, the performance and overview of systems and failure analysis tasks including: performing reliability analyses, participating in program reviews, reliability and availability modeling, probability, and statistics, reliability and availability allocations, and predictions. - Perform Logistics Analysis, Logistics associated with Support Cost, Mission Capability and Accomplishment Analysis, Operational and Deployment Analysis, and Testability Analysis. Oversight and guidance through the Failure Reporting and Corrective Action Analysis program, including the performance of Failure Data Collection, Failure Data/Database Management, Failure Data Report Generation, and Data Analysis tasks. - Candidate will have subject matter expert knowledge on Failure Mode, Effects and Criticality Analysis. Strong knowledge on building a Failure Review Board along with corrective actions for customer-facing meetings is required. - Candidate will interface with other functional departments, including Air Vehicle, Avionics, Systems Engineering, Modeling & Simulation, Prognostics Health Management, Supportability Engineering, Diminishing Material Shortages (DMS) team, Support Hardware, Global Supply Chain and supplier design engineers, as well as interfacing with the US Navy customer to understand requirements, collect data and strategize/provide solutions. - The Candidate must possess strong communication and writing skills, as well as the ability to handle multiple tasks. Proficiency with Microsoft Tools is essential. Interim secret clearance is also required. Prior Military experience is a plus. Travel to support customer / supplier interface may be required. Basic Qualifications: - Must have a Bachelors degree in a STEM field and at least 12 years of relevant military / professional experience, OR a Master's Degree in a STEM field and at least 10 years of relevant military / professional experience, OR a PhD and at least 8 years of relevant military / professional experience - Experience in Reliability, Maintainability and Availability (RMA) engineering in aerospace or defense. - Perform Logistics Analysis, Logistics associated with Support Cost, Mission Capability and Accomplishment Analysis, Operational and Deployment Analysis, and Testability Analysis. - Proven proficiency with reliability software tools such as PTC Windchill Quality Solutions (Relex), ReliaSoft (Weibull++, BlockSim), or Ansys Sherlock. - Experience applying military and defense standards (e.g., MIL-HDBK-217, MIL-STD-882, MIL-STD-1629, or DO-178/DO-254). - Demonstrated expertise leading FMEA/FMECA, Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Weibull life data analysis, and Physics of Failure (PoF) assessments. - Familiarity with other Product Support disciplines - Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government secret clearance Preferred Qualifications - Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Reliability Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline. - ASQ Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or a defense-focused Systems Engineering certification (e.g., INCOSE CSEP). - Experience managing reliability programs through the entire lifecycle, from Initial Design Review (PDR/CDR) to flight testing and field sustainment. - Background in high-reliability systems such as autonomous flight controls, missile guidance, space-launch systems, or electronic warfare (EW) suites. - Experience designing and implementing automated Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action Systems (FRACAS) across large-scale programs. - Systems performance monitoring and analysis. - Experience mentoring junior engineers and serving as the primary reliability technical authority in front of DoD customers and auditors. - Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, including project/analysis lead experience - Current Active U.S. government Secret clearance. Primary Level Salary Range: $152,900.00 - $229,300.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
