Job Description:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Develop, promote, maintain and execute Hitachi Automotive Systems Quality Assurance System. Administrate the Corrective Action System. Analyze customer and regulatory requirements to assess their effect on the internal Quality System.

2. Represent customer requirements internally

3. Conduct/lead problem solving analysis.

4. Develops and implements a quality production program to ensure conformity of purchased material and final products to quality standards.

5. Plan and support all internal, customer and agency audits and addresses all non-conformances.

6. Interface with supplier and customer quality representatives concerning problems with quality assurance and assure that effective corrective action is implemented.

7. Plan and assign work of subordinates. Responsible for Quality Assurance Department in terms of costs, methods and personnel.

8. Compile, write and deliver training material on quality standards and activities. Qualify personnel performing special process.

9. Develop and/or adapt inspection equipment to meet quality control standards, make suggestions with regard to procedures, standards and equipment to facilitate work and maintain product quality.

10. Oversee established calibration and testing program.

11. Responsible for compilation and maintenance of inspection reports and records.

12. Compile and submit reports on quality issues, trends and losses as required by Executive Management.

13. Reviews and dispositions incoming supplier PPAP status.

14. Perform APQP and PPAP functions from beginning to end of all program launches. Develop APQP documentation.

15. Assist the internal launch team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. A bachelor's degree in related field with a minimum of eight (8) years of work experience in Quality Assurance in the automotive industry.

2. Experience with ISO/IATF and Internal Quality Systems.

3. Knowledge and use of a wide variety of measuring instruments and complicated drawings.

4. Diverse knowledge of inspection and control methods, techniques and documentation.

5. Excellent attention to detail.

6. Ability to communicate in both written format and oral presentation.

7. Ability to multi-task and establish priorities.

8. Supervision experience.

9. Must be proficient in MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint. Some Access experience preferred.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for the direction and supervision of employees.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Required to sit & stand for long periods of time. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Usual office working conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet. The performance of this position may occasional require exposure to the manufacturing areas where certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment and steel toe shoes.
