Full Job Description
Key Responsibilities

  • Assists with field investigations of electrical systems, equipment failures, and related electrical engineering matters.
  • Performs engineering analysis under supervision and applies knowledge of applicable electrical codes and standards (NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE, OSHA).
  • Assists in the preparation of high-quality technical reports.
  • Supports deposition and trial preparation; may provide testimony as experience develops.
  • Assists in conducting client presentations.
  • Confers with project personnel to provide technical support and gather information.
  • Seeks technical advice and guidance from more experienced consultants.
  • Participates in continuing education and professional development activities.
  • Supports Business Development activities as appropriate.

    • E.I.T. (Engineer-in-Training) or ability to obtain P.E. license required; P.E. license preferred.
  • Experience Required
    • 2+ years of experience in electrical engineering, consulting, or related field.
    • Foundational knowledge of electrical codes and standards (NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE) and electrical system design.
    • Interest in forensic consulting and willingness to develop expertise in litigation support.
  • Other Technical & Non-Technical Skills
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite; familiarity with electrical engineering analysis or design software.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Must be available to travel occasionally as part of the national practice.

The pay range listed reflects a good-faith estimate of the compensation we expect to offer most candidates for this role. Total compensation includes a competitive base salary and bonus opportunity, with final pay determined by job-related factors such as experience, qualifications, individual performance, and overall company performance.

After internal discussions and market research, the current pay band for this opportunity is $80,000 to $110,000.

Physical Demands:

This role requires frequently sitting or standing for extended periods of time and occasionally lifting and/or moving items weighing up to 50 pounds, with infrequent lifting up to 75 pounds. The work regularly requires bending, twisting, kneeling, crouching, and maintaining balance. This position frequently requires handling and operating specialized tools and equipment and working in a variety of physical positions, including occasionally accessing tight or confined spaces.
