Full Job Description
Pennoni is currently seeking a Staff Civil Engineer in West Chester, PA. This role is ideal for a candidate who is seeking an opportunity to display their technical expertise, while gaining project management skills and be client-facing.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the development of Land Development Plans; this includes the preparation of engineering design drawings, technical specification, and engineering reports (from schematic design through construction).
  • Coordinate permits through regulatory agencies for large scale, complex projects.
  • Perform zoning interpretation and prepare feasibility studies, drawings, specifications, and reports.
  • Contribute to stormwater management design: Hydrologic and Hydraulic (H&H) modeling, Erosion and Sediment Control (E&SC) planning, etc.
  • Utilize advanced understanding of ordinances / regulations (local, state, & federal) as well as the relevant permitting process(es) to ensure compliance.
  • Engage with regulatory agencies.
  • Manage all aspects of project efforts and interface with clients.
  • Nurture existing client relationships as well as developing new clients.
  • Mentor junior-level staff.
  • Provide quality control of staff design & reports.
  • Prepare proposals and track project budgets for profitability.
  • Additional duties may be assigned, as needed.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering-oriented discipline (preferably Civil Engineering).
  • 4+ years of professional experience working in Engineering, preferably with land development projects.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • FE / EIT.
  • Experience working on land development and infrastructure improvement projects.
  • Proficiency with engineering tools (e.g.: CADD, project management software, etc.); exposure to AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Bluebeam is a plus!
  • Experience with stormwater management (SWM) design calculations, especially while utilizing H&H modeling tools.
  • Proficiency on standard office software applications: Microsoft Office 365 (especially Word, Excel, and Outlook), Adobe Acrobat, etc.
  • Proven ability to look at the "Big Picture" as well the project goals in order to coordinate various design disciplines accordingly.
  • Proven track record of demonstrating punctuality with consistent attendance.
  • Proven ability to work in an energetic & challenging team environment as a collaborative Team Player, especially while maintaining the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Proven ability to demonstrate problem-solving skills, especially when working on a variety of projects while providing solutions to difficult issues.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
