Full Job Description
We are looking for a Sr Technical Program Manager to join Amazon Leo's Antenna Fleet Operations team. Our engineers keep a globally distributed fleet of Ground Gateway Antennas healthy and serving customers; you will own the programs that keep that work organized and moving. You will be deep in the day-to-day: running the RMA process for failed hardware, driving open issues with vendors to resolution, and turning fleet and ticket data into the reporting the team runs on. You will independently run the mechanisms behind three areas: the logistics that get engineers and parts to gateway sites, the reporting that shows how the fleet is performing, and the vendor coordination that field work depends on. This role rewards someone who is comfortable with data and tooling like Grafana, SQL, Excel, and AI tools. Using them to organize information, build reports, and surface trends. You will work closely with senior operations engineers and systems engineers to translate the realities of field work into programs that scale as the fleet grows.

This position may require access to information, technology, or hardware that is subject to export control laws and regulations, including the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Employment in this position is contingent upon obtaining any required export licenses or other approvals from the United States government. As such, the successful candidate must be eligible to obtain any necessary export licenses or approvals based on their nationality, citizenship, and any other factors considered by the applicable export control regulations.

Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Key job responsibilities

Build and maintain the recurring reporting and dashboards for fleet health, ticket aging, mean time to repair, RMA cycle time, and campaign progress, using tools such as Grafana, SQL, and Excel to organize the data and surface notable failure patterns to the engineering team.

Own vendor and partner coordination, tracking milestones, deliverables, and open items, holding partners to commitments, and driving open vendor issues to resolution before they affect field work.

Own the RMA process for failed antenna hardware end to end: opening return authorizations, tracking units through the vendor repair and replacement loop, chasing status, managing warranty claims, and closing the loop when parts return to service.

Coordinate the logistics behind field work and define the program that keeps it running: equipment shipping, on-site scheduling with local operators and partners, and the mechanisms that keep field visits unblocked.

Own antenna fault remediation and maintenance tracking across a globally distributed gateway fleet, keeping ticket status, ownership, and aging current and accurate.

Plan and schedule maintenance campaigns, software upgrade deployment, and hardware retrofits in partnership with the engineering team, sequencing work across sites and managing the tradeoffs.

Own the team's program cadence mechanics: meeting agendas, notes, action item tracking, and follow-up to closure.

Identify manual processes that would benefit from better tooling or automation, and lead the effort to improve them.

A day in the life

You will start with the state of the fleet: what is broken, what is degraded, what is scheduled, and what is blocked. You will work with operations engineers to keep the plan accurate and correctly sequenced, chase down the open RMAs, shipments, and partner confirmations that field visits are waiting on, and make sure nothing quietly falls off the list. You will keep the reporting current pulling fleet and ticket data together in Grafana, SQL, Excel, and AI tools so problems surface while they are still small, flag the patterns worth a closer look, and continuously sharpen the mechanisms the team runs on. You will own your programs end to end and be the person the team trusts to keep the operation moving.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of program management or technical project management experience

- Experience owning end-to-end programs to drive results

- Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system

- Experience working with Excel, reporting tools, and large-scale data mining tools, such as Power BI, Python, SQL, or Tableau

- Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities, or experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems

- Experience in written and verbal communication skills to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 7+ years of experience supporting an engineering, field operations, or infrastructure team

- Experience defining program mechanisms and metrics from scratch and improving them over time

- Proficiency with data analysis and reporting tools such as Grafana, SQL, Excel, or AI tools for summarizing trends and organizing data

- Exposure to satellite communications, telecommunications, RAN, data center, or other distributed infrastructure operations

- Exposure to logistics or international shipping for technical equipment
