Summary:
We are seeking a Sr Staff Software Engineer to lead the architectural vision, design strategy, and long-term evolution of software solutions within the Medication Supply Chain Management domain. This role is responsible for defining scalable, resilient, and highly integrated system architectures that support critical business capabilities across the enterprise. Partnering closely with engineering leaders, product managers, and cross-functional stakeholders, you will guide multiple development teams, drive technology decisions, and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards, platform strategies, and long-term business objectives.
The ideal candidate has demonstrated success leading architecture for large-scale, mission-critical systems and influencing technical direction across teams and organizational boundaries. They possess strong systems thinking and critical-thinking capabilities, enabling them to evaluate complex challenges, communicate architectural tradeoffs, and make sound technical decisions that balance short-term delivery objectives with long-term maintainability, scalability, and extensibility. They are a collaborative leader with a strong sense of teamwork, able to build trusted partnerships across engineering, product, and business functions. Experience in regulated environments is preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, with the ability to effectively convey architectural vision and technical concepts to audiences at all levels of the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Own and evolve the architecture roadmap for a largescale platform over multiple years
- Provide technical direction and architectural governance across multiple delivery teams
- Lead design reviews and serve as an escalation point for complex technical decisions
- Balance availability, scalability, security, and compliance requirements in architectural decisions
- Perform software design and implementation, following coding guidelines and considering system characteristics to produce optimal performance, reliability, and maintainability
- Conduct software evaluation and testing of own software, software from other engineering staff, and third-party software
- Provide technical documentation for the design, implementation and testing of the software
- Document and repair errors related to software
- Work with cross-functional project teams to complete Product Engineering projects with minimal guidance
- Develop cohesive interpersonal working relationships with all peers and team members
- Work with source code management tools (e.g. Github) and work tracking tools (e.g. JIRA)
- Mentor senior engineers and raise the technical bar across the organization
Required Skills/Experience:
- Bachelor27 Degree required.
- At least 10 years of growing responsibility in Research & Development roles.
- Experience with Go or C#, React, Java, Jenkins
- Experience operating in agile development environments
- Experience with healthcare environments
- Experience with cloud-based technologies from public cloud providers (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Experience designing and implementing scalable, highly available cloud architectures using AWS services and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) frameworks such as AWS CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform.
- Experience in Web Development
- Proven track record of balancing customer requirements, technical constraints, and architectural best practices when making complex design decisions
- Willingness to travel up to 20% (domestic and international)
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Master's or advanced degree
- Experience with REST architecture
- Experience with multiple database implementations (e.g. MySQL, SQL Server, non-relational databases)
- Experience interacting with global teams
