SUMMARY:

RENK Systems Corporation, located in Camby, IN, is the North American hub for the Test Systems Business Unit. RENK delivers world class test equipment to diverse industries including Aviation, Renewable Energy (Wind Turbine), Defense and Automotive. In addition, RENK is the world leader in the design and manufacture of helicopter transmission test stands for development and end of line testing.

Job Description:

The test systems business unit is entering its next phase of growth in North America. As such we are looking to strengthen our engineering team and hire a Mechanical Engineer. This role will be responsible for designing, developing and improving mechanical systems and components. It involves working closely with global cross-functional teams to ensure that mechanical systems meet performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Create designs and layouts of test benches and gearboxes in 3D with Siemens NX.
  • Experience with Teamcenter is a plus.
  • Design of test bench structures and creation of variant designs.
  • Perform engineering calculations and simulations to validate designs.
  • Calculation and selection of machine elements and hydraulic components.
  • Collaborate with electrical engineers, designers, and other team members to integrate mechanical systems with electronic and software systems.
  • Coordinate and facilitate communication with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure clarity.
  • Conduct prototypes, testing, and validation to ensure product functionality and performance.
  • Identify and resolve mechanical design issues and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation and reports.
  • Participate in project planning, including defining scope, timelines, and resource requirements.
  • Support sales team during the proposal phase with technical expertise.
  • Strong interest in hands-on assembly work and building their own design.
  • Prior experience in quality is a plus.


Position Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 6 years of prior related experience or Master's Degree with 4 years of prior related experience.
  • Ability to work effectively in both independent and diverse team environments.
  • 3D design with Siemens NX.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to develop practical engineering solutions for difficult problems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
