Full Job Description
The Senior Software Project Manager is responsible for reducing complexity and managing risk to ensure software and systems are developed in a predictable and efficient manner while delivering to the organizations strategic objectives. This role is the connection point between technical and business stakeholders, it ensures the diverse teams involved are able to provide predictable outcomes in delivering customer-focused solutions.

This position reports to the Senior Manager, Software Integration Project Management and is part of the R&D Project Manage Office located in Concord, Ontario and will be an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Lead platform and application software planning, controlling and coordination of a development team/release train to deliver and meet defined goals using Scaled Agile development practices.
  • Lead system-level integration and execution across software, firmware, instruments, peripherals and third-party components. This includes driving ownership and accountability to the team.
  • Regularly apply critical thinking in order to resolve project needs by way of collaborating across a variety of organizational functions and teams, such as: Software, Firmware, Hardware, Service and Research.
  • Lead planning activities for concurrent hardware and software development programs requiring coordinated integration, validation, and commercial release readiness. Support platform evolution strategies balancing new feature delivery, technical debt reduction, scalability, maintainability, and long-term product lifecycle objectives.
  • Produce and deliver project-related communication such as status reports, visual management and progress metrics in team and management contexts. Lead and measure the team's performance of project tasks.


The essential requirements of the job include:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science
  • Prefer 7+ years demonstrated engineering sector experience as a software engineering professional and/or project manager; experience with both Agile and Waterfall software development environments is strongly preferred
  • Experience managing system development/integration projects with multi-disciplinary teams encompassing embedded hardware, firmware and control/processing software
  • Experience managing platforms that support multiple products, configurations, device variants, or customer workflows.
  • Ability to assess technical trade-offs and risks involving scope, architecture, performance, usability, reliability, maintainability, and release readiness.


It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
  • Systems engineering and product architecture
  • Platform/Enterprise software development
  • Concurrent project execution in a shared code base

The annual salary range for this role is $125,000-$135,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
