Clearance Required: TS/SCI with CI Polygraph
Location: National Capital Region (NCR) or San Antonio, TX
Nightwing is seeking a Senior Software Engineer that leads the design, development, testing, and deployment of complex software systems for mission-critical operations. This position applies advanced software engineering principles and SAFe Agile methodologies to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance applications. The Senior Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams, mentors junior developers, and ensures software solutions meet stringent technical, functional, and security requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead design and implementation of complex software features
- Architect technical solutions that align with system design principles
- Mentor and guide less experienced engineers
- Conduct thorough code reviews ensuring quality and security standards
- Implement and optimize DevSecOps automation
- Design and develop scalable microservices architectures
- Lead technical discussions and architecture decisions
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues across the stack
- Participate in and contribute to SAFe Program-level activities
- Support third-party code reviews and security assessments
Required Qualifications:- Minimum 10 years of software development experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent substitution)
- Expert-level proficiency in multiple programming languages (Python, Java, Go, etc.)
- Deep understanding of microservices, containerization, and orchestration
- Extensive experience with DevSecOps practices and toolchains
- Strong knowledge of software design patterns and architectural principles
- Experience with distributed systems and message queuing (Kafka, NATS, RabbitMQ)
- Proficiency in database technologies (PostgreSQL, Redis, Elasticsearch)
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical implementations
- Active TS/SCI clearance with ability to obtain CI Polygraph
- Must be U.S. citizen
- Must be located in NCR or San Antonio area
Salary & Benefits
The salary associated with this position ($99,000-$206,000) is commensurate with the selected candidate's qualifications, years of relevant experience, and demonstrated level of expertise. Compensation will be determined based on these factors to ensure alignment with skills, responsibilities, and market standards.
