Job DescriptionPosition SummaryAdvance Auto Parts is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Full Stack to design, develop, and support modern web applications supporting finance and customer-facing platforms, including PayPro+, our customer bill portal system.
This is a hands-on Individual Contributor role responsible for building scalable, secure, and high-performance applications using Next.js, Java-based services, and Kafka within a cloud-native environment.
This posiiton is based is a hybrid work model (4 days in office, 1 day work from home) in our corporate headquarters in Raleigh, NC. Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, test, and support full-stack applications using modern web technologies (Next.js, Java)
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices
- Develop and support Kafka-based event-driven integrations
- Integrate applications with backend data systems including Oracle databases
- Write efficient SQL queries and optimize performance
- Deploy applications to containerized environments (OpenShift, Kubernetes, Azure ARO)
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and code reviews
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement fixes
- Document technical designs and system behavior
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
- 7-10 years of full-stack development experience
- Strong expertise in Next.js, React, JavaScript, HTML, CSS
- Strong Java (Spring Boot) backend development experience
- Experience with REST APIs and microservices
- Experience with Kafka or event-driven systems
- Strong SQL/database experience
- Experience with Docker/Kubernetes/OpenShift
- Familiarity with GitHub and CI/CD pipelines
Preferred Qualifications- Exposure to Oracle PaaS, APEX, or PL/SQL
- Experience with finance or billing systems
- Experience with Azure cloud
- Knowledge of OAuth, JWT authentication
Working Conditions & Environment- Hybrid work arrangement - required to work onsite in Raleigh office four (4) days per week
- Occasional after-hours support may be required
- Collaboration across distributed teams expected
