Travel Required: Significant travel (30-50%) is a core requirement of this role. You will support projects across multiple manufacturing facilities, with travel increasing during active project phases. Some periods may require up to three out of every four weeks on-site at plant locations.

About the Role

As a Senior Capital Engineering Project Manager, you'll lead large-scale capital projects across our manufacturing network. This role combines engineering, construction management, financial stewardship, and cross-functional leadership to deliver projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.

The ideal candidate is an industrial capital engineering professional with a proven track record of directly managing multiple concurrent multi-million-dollar capital projects and equipment installations across several manufacturing locations, delivering complex initiatives from concept through execution in a multi-site manufacturing environment. This person has owned project budgets, managed contractors and construction activities, coordinated equipment installations and startup efforts, and successfully delivered projects within approved capital appropriations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead capital projects involving facility construction, manufacturing infrastructure, utilities, process equipment installations, production line expansions, and plant modernization initiatives.
  • Own project budgets from authorization through closeout, including investments exceeding $20MM.
  • Develop capital requests, project scopes, equipment specifications, cost estimates, bid packages, and contractor work scopes.
  • Manage project forecasting, spending, change orders, risk mitigation, and overall financial performance.
  • Partner with operations, maintenance, quality, engineering, and plant leadership teams to deliver successful outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, quality, food safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational performance, reduce costs, and support business growth.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • 5+ years of engineering, capital project management, construction management, or manufacturing project experience.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex multi-million-dollar capital projects.
  • Strong understanding of industrial construction, manufacturing operations, and contractor management.
  • Experience managing capital budgets and project financial performance.
  • Excellent planning, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in food manufacturing, consumer packaged goods, ingredient processing, dairy, agricultural processing, or other industrial manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project, Primavera (P6/P5), Procore, SAP, or JD Edwards (JDE).
  • PMP certification and/or Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Advanced degree in engineering, business, or management.
