What you'll do

Support multiple networking communication products currently in production and future Next Generator products . Your responsibilities will include understanding the technical build of multiple product lines. You will work with team members to address various issues and support fixing technical problems from production and the field. You will also support qualification efforts for component changes and help transition prototype units to low rate initial production. Additional duties include lab support and management, setting up and maintaining test and development hardware, and board checkout.

The day-to-day
• Independently fix complex digital PWAs (Processors, memory, FPGAs, CPLD, microcontrollers) down to component level root cause and coordinate/perform repairs and retests
• Identify rework needed to isolate and/or repair problems
• Integrate and debug designs in the laboratory
• Work closely with engineers to devise and monitor tests for solving problems
• Perform Design verification testing to requirements compliance
• Perform Environmental testing on components and systems
• Use of both Windows and Linux operating systems to develop and complete tests
• Assembly, design, and operate custom test fixtures/equipment
• Write and update Test procedures
• Use Visio and similar tools to document system testing, re-work and debug instructions
• Knowledge and use of scripting languages, e.g. PERL, PYTHON a plus
• Able to be the main point of contract for multiple products for support issues

What you'll need
• 15+ years of hardware fixing or sustaining experience
• US citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance is required
• Must be able to prioritize, be detail oriented, and have a history of managing time well to accomplish multiple tasks in parallel
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, proficiency in collaborating with a temporally and geographically diverse team
• Ability to document and report on technical solutions/findings
• Good working knowledge of MS Office products for documentation creation and modification
• Extensive familiarity with standard test equipment (i.e., oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzer, power supplies, etc.)
• Deep knowledge of production related processes and common failure modes
• Keen desire to expand understanding through continuous learning
• Desire to be part of a multidisciplinary team to evaluate and fix production related issues
• Capacity to operate autonomously, proactively address tasks, and assume responsibility for outcomes
• Ability to travel up to 10%
• This is an onsite role based in Carlsbad, CA

What will help you on the job
• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
• Active Security Clearance
• Familiarity with TCL, Perl, Python or another scripting language
• Proven experience in debugging, diagnosing, and solving embedded designs issues
• High interest in learning
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, take ownership of tasks and results

Salary range

$36.54 - $57.69 / hourly. For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $45.43 - $68.03/ hourly
