Full Job Description
$133,400.00-$183,400.00 Annual

This is the base salary pay range that an applicant can expect to make upon hire.   Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors. In addition, this position is eligible for an incentive bonus. 

The Senior Product Manager is responsible for developing and implementing strategies for complex product lines with significant strategic impact, contribution margin and overall strategic relevance, including coordinating with a large matrixed organization, to drive a cohesive glass fibers strategy.  The Senior Product Manager is responsible for overall profitability, through daily product line management, including price, cost, inventory, product lifecycle management and support of account management sales activities.  Additionally, the Sr. Product Manager gathers and analyzes market trends, sets product pricing range targets in corporation with finance, analyzes competitive intelligence, and leads business cases for large capital projects from ideation to implementation.

The Glass Fibers business includes all Chopped Strand (DDCS, Base Fibers, LCF & Gypsum) and Direct Rovings products manufactured in our Etowah, TN and Waterville, OH plants.  This position has 3 direct reports based in Waterville OH, including 2 Product Engineers and 1 Technical Service Engineer.

The location of this position is preferred to be in Waterville, OH; Etowah, TN; or Denver or Littleton, CO. Pending base location, periods of heavy travel could be required.

Your Day-to-Day:

  • Full product and market responsibility for the Glass Fibers portfolio in NA.
  • As a member of the EP Fiber leadership, participation in developing the business strategic and operating plan, establish budgets & objectives and support new growth platforms in cooperation with EP Commercial Leadership.
  • Provide regular and ad-hoc reports and presentations to business leadership on product lines and projects.
  • Develop, present and manage business cases for large capital projects from ideation to implementation.
  • Identify and champion new product development, new market entry strategies, and product portfolio optimization for the Fibers line by using technology & markets trends as well as competitor strategies in cooperation with EP Commercial Leadership.
  • Understand customer needs and support the Technical Service team to transfer the necessary requirements to both products and services.
  • Assist Key Account Managers in identifying new strategic growth opportunities and aligning with strategic goals.
  • Manage the product mix for Fibers Assets including capacity and inventory management to meet objectives.
  • Work directly with sales, operations and supply chain to establish the proper SIOP balance between delivery to promise and inventory carrying targets.
  • Optimize product portfolio to match market requirements and asset capabilities at max profitability.
  • Directly manage and mentor direct reports to achieve Glass Fibers objectives, as well as their own professional goals.
  • Meet quality goals for all product lines, define customer expectations and ensure compliance with all product specifications.
  • Manage larger customer product issues through root cause analysis, resolution and corrective action effectiveness verification with the support of production, process engineering and quality.
  • Represent the Glass Fibers business through attendance/participation and branding at relevant industry association & customer trade shows and events.

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in engineering, science or relevant technical field.
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in manufacturing leadership, quality, planning, engineering, or marketing related to industrial materials, glass and/or composites
  • Experience managing and developing direct reports (preferred not required)
  • Demonstrated use and comfort with marketing and product management tools such as ABC inventory management, segmentation and targeting, quality functional deployment, value chain analysis, value proposition development, or other similar tools
  • Technical knowledge to understand product attributes, manufacturing processes, and product technology
  • Proven ability to develop and manage commercial product strategies with a strong customer focus
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence individuals across multiple levels of the organization
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
