Full Job Description
About the Role:

Identity is the target. Adversaries don't need to break through a firewall when they can log in as someone who already has access, and identity-based attacks are now the most common way breaches happen. The less exposed an identity is, the harder and more expensive an attack becomes.

This role owns the part of CrowdStrike's Identity Protection product that reduces that exposure and shrinks the blast radius when an identity is compromised: understanding an identity's full digital footprint and the assets and other identities it connects to, finding where risk concentrates, prioritizing what matters most, and turning that into action. It's an area with significant scope for a Sr. Product Manager to define the approach rather than execute an existing one.

This is a hybrid position requiring at least 2 days a week in the office at our NYC office location.

What You'll Do:
  • Own how Identity Protection finds and prioritizes identity risk: define the strategy for detecting risk across every identity type (human, service account, AI agent) and turning raw findings into a ranked, actionable view of what matters most.
  • Own the strategy for closing the loop from finding to fix: decide where automation is appropriate, where a human needs to stay in the loop, and how the product proves a fix actually worked.
  • Define how identities relate to each other and to the resources they touch: your work depends on a clear model of how accounts, groups, devices, workloads, and AI agents connect, and how those connections reveal risk that isolated findings miss.
  • Drive identity risk as shared context across the security stack: every detection, alert, and access decision is better when it's informed by what you know about the identity behind it. You'll work with engineering teams to make that context available wherever decisions are being made.
  • Use AI agents as a core part of how you work: research, analysis, spec iteration, and customer synthesis should run through agentic tooling as a default, not an occasional experiment.

What You'll Need:

Identity and IAM Depth
  • Hands-on background in IAM, identity governance, privileged access, or a closely adjacent technical domain. "Adjacent" means you've worked with the plumbing, not just named the category.
  • Real understanding of how identity relationships work: account inheritance, entitlement propagation, transitive privilege paths, cross-tenant trust. You can explain why a human's effective permissions differ from their assigned permissions and why that gap matters.
  • Familiarity with non-human identity: service accounts, workload identity, machine credentials, SPIFFE/SPIRE or equivalent standards. You know why NHI governance is harder than human identity governance because you've tried to model it, not because you read about it.
  • Fluency with core identity protocols (oAuth, OIDC, SAML) and where their implementation creates exploitable risk.
  • You understand how AI agents authenticate, what scoped vs. standing access means for an autonomous agent, and what the identity and security implications are when agents chain tool calls across systems using protocols like MCP and A2A. You've thought about what it means to govern an AI agent the way you govern a service account, and where that analogy breaks down.
  • Comfort working directly with graph structures and data models: writing queries to pull the data you need, reading results critically, and knowing when something looks wrong. You won't design the database, but you won't wait for an analyst to get you the answer either.

Product Management and Communication:
  • 5+ years in product management, with proven experience both bringing products 0 to 1 and scaling them once shipped.
  • Comfortable driving ambiguous areas from problem definition to delivered product, without waiting for the spec to be handed to you.
  • AI agents are a core part of how you work today: research, analysis, spec iteration, customer synthesis, stakeholder prep. You have formed specific opinions about which models, tools, and patterns work for PM work and which don't, and those opinions have changed as the technology matured because you were actually using it when it was rough.
  • Strong instinct for simplification: you've taken something genuinely complex (a risk model, an entitlement graph, a remediation workflow) and made it usable by someone who doesn't live in it every day, whether in a product UI or a conversation.
  • Able to mock and iterate on ideas rapidly using Claude Code, Lovable, Replit, or similar tools before anything touches design or engineering. When you come to a product discussion, you bring a working prototype or a concrete visual, not a description of one. Bring examples that show you've done this.
  • Able to explain a complex identity or risk concept in plain language to whoever is in front of you, whether that's an engineer, an executive, or a customer's compliance team. You adjust the explanation to the audience without dumbing down the substance.
  • Strong written communication across whatever format the work calls for: a spec, a prompt chain, an eval, a one-pager, a working prototype.
  • Proven experience utilizing AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, improve efficiency and drive business outcomes.

Identity Surface Knowledge:
  • Practical familiarity with how identity providers (Entra ID, Okta, Ping, and similar) are configured, where they create risk, and how attackers exploit gaps in authentication policy, token handling, and federation.
  • Understanding of cloud vendor IAM models (AWS IAM, Azure RBAC, GCP IAM) and how misconfigured cloud identities expand the attack surface beyond what traditional directory-based security covers.
  • Ability to reason about the combined attack surface when a human's cloud IAM role, Entra account, and a service account running on their behalf all connect to the same sensitive resource.

Bonus Points:
  • Background in SIEM, SOAR, or detection engineering.
  • Prior work at a CrowdStrike partner, competitor, or large enterprise security team.
  • Experience treating compliance requirements as a product design constraint rather than a legal review step.
  • Prior work in adversarial thinking, red-teaming, or threat modeling.
