Full Job Description
Job Title: Sr. Product Developer - HOKA Footwear

Reports to: Sr. Manager, Product Development - Hoka Footwear

Location: Portland, OR (Hybrid)

Typically 3 times per week in office, Tuesday - Thursday

The Role

As Sr. Product Developer - HOKA Footwear, you'll drive the footwear product creation process from brief and design through prototyping, sales samples, and production confirmation. You'll manage project timelines, lead key sample reviews, and facilitate cross-functional collaboration to ensure every product meets brand, consumer, manufacturing, and performance requirements. Your focus on continuous improvement will help deliver quality products for our consumers.

Your Impact
  • Lead the product creation process, reviewing project status to ensure alignment with briefs, cost targets, testing requirements, and performance
  • Create and maintain accurate BOMs and product specifications in the PLM system
  • Drive problem solving and risk mitigation by reviewing tech packs, identifying concerns, and proposing alternatives to meet performance and margin targets
  • Review technical drawings, test reports, patterns, components, and lasts to identify issues and drive corrective actions
  • Manage the critical path by planning and executing development projects according to timelines and deliverables
  • Lead timely creation, delivery, and approval of technical deliverables (patterns, files, blueprints, cost sheets)
  • Track and drive cross-functional follow-ups to ensure technical deliverables are completed and approved on schedule
  • Support product testing and validation by reviewing test results, flagging risks, and driving actions for product confirmation and production readiness
  • Partner with design and testing teams to document issues, recommend solutions, and confirm corrective actions
  • Support factory and cross-functional communications to resolve commercialization risks impacting timing, cost, or quality
  • Manage sample execution, including product teardowns and timely approval of production confirmation samples


Who You Are
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 4-6 years' experience in footwear development industry
  • Experience building and maintaining product specifications, BOM accuracy, and PLM data standards (FlexPLM or similar)
  • Working knowledge of material applications, testing/validation, and factory manufacturing constraints for performance footwear
  • Knowledge of product construction
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to drive alignment across multiple functions
  • Ability to set priorities, manage workload, and provide clear feedback to deliver results
  • PLM proficiency (FlexPLM or similar) with ability to define and enforce data standards and approval workflows
  • Working knowledge of footwear development tools and measurement techniques (calipers, hardness gauge, Brannock device)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft and Adobe applications
