Responsibilities for this internship position are:

Northrop Grumman Corporation (NGC) has developed the Northrop Grumman - Military Internship Program (DoD SkillBridge) utilizing the DoDI guidance for SkillBridge. During this program the service member will be on-site at his or her host company performing an individual internship in an entry to mid-level career type role. The service member will be on the job training supporting a work schedule equivalent to 40hrs per week. Outlined below are the Goals, Objectives, and Outcomes for the program.

Goals - Provide transitioning service members fellowship-style job skills training during the last portion(s) of their military commitment. This program is specifically designed to offer internships that result in the potential to transition to a full-time opportunity as the conclusion of the training. Interns will serve as a pipeline for high-speed, motivated military candidates into NGC.

Objectives - Service Members who complete the Intern program will be highly trained, capable, future employees that align to the specific needs of the organization and are prepared to meet the NG mission "Defining Possible" on Day 1. This program provides comprehensive internship experience including professional development, networking with leadership, and training specifically focused on NG leadership principles, company history, customer/stakeholder engagement, product and service overview, and core job responsibilities.

Outcome - Offer transitioning service member a rewarding opportunity to join the Northrop Grumman team.

DoD SkillBridge Eligibility:

- Has served at least 180 days on active duty
- Is within 12 months of separation or retirement
- Will receive an honorable discharge
- Has taken any service TAPS/TGPS
- Has attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months
- Received Unit Commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) written authorization and approval to participate in DoD SkillBridge Program prior to start of internship.

Northrop Grumman's Defense Sector is looking for a Sr. Principal Logistics Management Analyst to work with our talented Advanced Weapons team located in Northridge, CA.

As an integral part of our multi-discipline engineering team in Advanced Weapons, you will be on the forefront of developing next generation solutions to protect technology for our nation's warfighter. The ideal candidate will support a secured missile weapon system. This position will require close collaboration with team members of other projects within the organization for security architecture designs as well as external partners and customers.

This position requires the selected candidate to work on-site in Northridge; CA on a 9/80 schedule. Telework is not available for this position. Relocation assistance, although not guaranteed, may be available.

This position is contingent upon available funding/program award.

In this role, the selected candidate will (but not be limited to):
  • Perform integrated logistics support activities and assist as a technical resource from a program's concept and proposal phases through development, test, production, and post-production support phases
  • Support logistics design influence efforts and activities necessary to meet system performance requirements
  • Analyze and interpret data (e.g., drawings, manuals, specifications, etc.) to develop logistics data
  • Create/update relevant reports such as maintenance task analysis (MTA) or provisioning requirements reports
  • Evaluate repair-versus-replace strategies to optimize supply chain cost and network efficiency in support of LORA development
  • Develop maintenance concepts/Maintenance Support Plans (MSP) to ensure the most affordable and effective mission readiness solution
  • Plan/execute activities that sustain the operation and maintenance of systems to ensure mission readiness
  • Perform Human Factors analysis on maintenance and operation activities and end items
  • Perform Human Engineering Interaction Demonstration (HEID)
  • Develop/Update Packaging, Handling, Shipping & Transportation (PHS&T) and Demilitarization plans
  • Develop Illustrated Parts Breakdown (IPB)
  • Develop Maintenance, Operations and Training Manual - Source Data


Basic Qualifications for a Sr. Principal Logistics Management Analyst:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Engineering, or a related field from an accredited university with 8 years of engineering experience or 6 years with Masters, 13 years of relevant experience will be considered in-lieu of a degree
  • Experience in Logistics Support Analysis (LSA), Reliability, Maintainability or other logistics related discipline
  • Experience in developing/generating various types of logistics supportability analysis
  • Knowledge of analyzing data/trend analysis or databases for tracking logistics and inventory
  • Familiar with military maintenance and sustainment support
  • U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret DoD Security Clearance within a reasonable period to support program needs
  • Meets SkillBridge requirements as per DODI 1322.29


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Engineering, or a related field from an accredited university
  • Familiarity with Logistics 12 Elements
  • Experience in military maintenance and sustainment support
  • Engineering design background generating new designs, models, and drawings
  • Experience developing LSA products in accordance with MIL-STD-1388, GEIA-STD-0007 or MIL-PRF-49506 in LSA database tools such as EAGLE or SLICwave
  • Understanding of repair level analysis and life cycle cost modeling
  • Previous experience using LSA data to develop either technical data, technical publications, Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETMs), or training products
  • Experience with missile systems
  • Possess active DoD Security Clearance (investigation completed within last 5 years)


Primary Level Salary Range: $106,800.00 - $160,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
