Job Description
Job Summary:
Supports major elements of the preconstruction process by performing detailed quantity takeoffs, preparing cost comparisons, and assisting in design-phase coordination to help align scope, budget, and schedule. Reviews design progress to identify basic constructability considerations, gathers and organizes cost and logistics data, and develops recommendations with oversight. Facilitates trade partner communication, helps assemble budgets in scopes with greater coordination and risk, and applies developing knowledge of building systems and estimating principles. Works with increasing independence on defined portions of the project and serves as a resource to precon engineers. Demonstrates strong attention to detail, curiosity, teamwork, and starts growing an understanding of how preconstruction decisions influence project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Develops detailed analyses of drawings, specifications, models, and design iterations to evaluate scope alignment, identify inconsistencies, and recommend clarifications.
Develops quantity assessments, cost studies, and benchmarking analyses, incorporating design progression, market conditions, value considerations, and project risk factors.
Coordinates trade partner engagement by evaluating proposals, assessing scope completeness, identifying scope gaps, assumptions and constructability issues, and synthesizing bid comparisons to provide and communicate recommendations effectively.
Participates in constructability reviews and supports logistics planning, sequencing evaluations, and system-level assessments by preparing data, drawings, and technical inputs to inform design optimization and project feasibility, including introductory coordination with prefabrication, Self-Perform Work (SPW), Equipment Integration Group (EIG), Design-Build Construction (DBC), and other Family of Companies partners to understand impacts to budget, schedule, and scope coordination.
Develops sections of conceptual, schematic, and detailed budgets and contributes to pricing narratives, assumptions, and qualification development.
Prepares preconstruction deliverables such as presentations, reports, and risk assessments for project teams and clients.
Provides direction and informal mentorship to other preconstruction team members to support their technical growth and project contributions.
Education Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field, or equivalent experience required.
Work Experience:
4-6 years of experience in preconstruction, estimating, engineering, or a related construction role required.
Certifications and Licenses:
None required.
Anticipated starting pay range:
$100,000.00- $135,000.00
