Responsibilities
SUMMARY:Provides strategic, independent leadership for physician recruitment initiatives across assigned UHS acute divisionmarkets. Serves as a trusted advisor to facility CEOs, Market Directors, and senior operational leadership, guiding recruitment strategy from workforce planning through contract execution. Owns full-cycle recruitment for complex, high-impact searches, including specialty and hard-to-fill roles, while ensuring alignment with organizational strategy, financial targets, and compliance standards.
Leads candidate engagement, site visit execution, compensation development, and negotiation activities, partnering closely with Legal, Physician Payments, and executive stakeholders. Maintains accountability for recruitment outcomes, timelines, and data integrity, while proactively identifying risks, opportunities, and process improvements to advance physician recruitment effectiveness across the division.

Qualifications
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, buisness perferred.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Initiates and manages full cycle physician recruitment process for assigned hospitals:
- develops position profiles
- develops strategy and activity for sourcing of qualified candidates
- contacts and presents practice information to candidates
- coordinates communications and submittals to hospitals managing full cycle of activity with all parties involved to closure
2. Timely manages job entries on physician internet job sites utilized by department.
3. Accurate and timely records all recruitment activity in department database and shared department drive documents.
4. Develops and conducts as needed direct mail, internet mail, calling or other sourcing projects.
5. Completes other miscellaneous support and recruitment activities as needed - including but not limited to: research on industry activity related to physician recruitment activities, compensation data, physician distribution and characteristics, trends, visa sponsorship eligibility, etc.
6. Coordinates contact with assorted vendors and service representatives that may include: outside staffing/recruitment firms; advertising representatives; professional organizations.
7. Conducts on-site visits with community practices to assess recruitment needs, growth potential, and operational alignment with acute division strategy. Independently drafts pre-forma analyses for senior leadership review and approval. Educates external practice groups on process flow, timelines, compensation levers, and compliance parameters.
8. Partners with Market Directors to prepare all documents required for LOI requests, including comp models and justification summaries.
9. Leads the entire FMV review process from initiation to completion.
10. Responds to FMV vendor inquiries, clarifies operational details, and ensures timely turnaround.
11. Communicates FMV results and implications to Market Directors and senior leadership.
12. Reviews draft employment agreements with candidates, interprets contract language, and facilitates discussion around proposed revisions.
13. Coordinates directly with Legal, Market Directors, and senior leadership to evaluate and resolve redline requests.
14. Secures required executive approvals for compensation or contract terms outside standard thresholds.
15. Actively participates in medical spend committees, providing recruitment insights, documentation, and strategic support to ensure smooth passage of physician approvals.
16.Anticipates committee needs and proactively resolves issues prior to presentation.
17. Represents UHS at physician job fairs, specialty education conferences and/or residency program presentations as assigned.
18. Serves as the primary in-market recruitment leader for the assigned acute division.
19. Conducts onsite candidate visits, including facility tours, community tours, and hosted dinners with key stakeholders.
20.Builds and maintains strong relationships with hospital leadership, practice groups, and community partners to support strategic physician placement.
21. Develops compensation recommendations in partnership with Market Directors and the Director of Physician Payments
