We are seeking a
Sr Optical Process Engineer in our
Albuquerque, NM Location.

Key Responsibilities:- Develop tooling and processes to create fiber array assemblies
- Verify and Validate fiber optic bonding processes
- Design, and develop tooling and processes for active fiber optic assemblies generation quantum computer systems
- Lead development and design projects that validate technologies, bonding methods, alignment methods, and tooling suppliers that result in production solutions.
YOU MUST HAVE:- Bachelor's Degree minimum
- Minimum 4+ years' experience (advanced degree inclusive) with fiber optic development, connectors, splicing, handling, and alignment processes.
- Due to Contractual requirements, must be a U.S. Person defined as, U.S. citizen permanent resident or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee status
- Due to national security requirements imposed by the U.S. Government, candidates for this position must not be a People's Republic of China national or Russian national unless the candidate is also a U.S. citizen.
WE VALUE:- Ph.D. or Masters in Optics, Applied Physics, or a related field
- 4+ years' experience with tools to assemble fiber optic systems
- 4+ years' experience with optical metrology systems and developing optical alignment algorithms
- 2+ years' experience with testing of fiber optics systems
- Experience with laser welding tooling and processes used in fiber optic assemblies
- Experience designing, developing, and assembling optical systems with micro-optics, fiber optics, and/or photonic components
- Experience debugging and troubleshooting optical and photonic systems
- Experience executing engineering tool and process development
- Experience working with wavelengths from UV to Infrared
- Experience mentoring junior engineers in best development practices and optical design methodologies
$147,000 - $197,000 a year
Compensation & Benefits:The pay range for this role is $147,000 - $197,000 annually. Actual compensation within this range may vary based on the candidate's skills, educational background, professional experience, and unique qualifications for the role.
