Job SummaryThe position is responsible for driving Engineering and supporting other Network Engineers in their day-to-day operational activities. You will additionally work on high level design documentation, creating high-level topology drawings, and testing new technology. The IT Engineer is a direct report to the Technology Group Product Manager with understanding of business goals, business processes, and technology expertise in these areas.
The IT Engineer Principle I is involved in the full technology life cycle and is responsible for designing, configuring, testing, implementing and supporting enterprise IT/OT network infrastructure. IT Engineer will work closely with Analysts and Product Managers to understand the business requirements that drive the analysis and physical design of technical solutions. IT Engineer may be assigned to either implementation or support functions. Implementation involves creating new technology-based solutions whereas support involves upgrades, maintenance or issue resolution to existing technology solutions.
Job Responsibilities- Design, con figuration, development, documentation and testing of enterprise LAN, WAN, Datacenter, wireless, internet and network security technology solutions to meet business or technology requirements.
- Provide advanced hands-on support for Cisco based routing, switching and security technologies in IT/OT areas
- Support network segmentation and cybersecurity initiatives, including VLAN/VRF segmentation. Firewall enforcements, ACLs, NAC and Zero Trust related network controls
- Develop and maintain network diagrams, configurations, SOPs, implementation plans, troubleshooting procedures and as-built documentation
- Ensure network devices comply with organizational security standards, vulnerability remediation requirements, software lifecycle standards, and configuration baselines
- Collaboration with internal and external teams/vendors to ensure proper integration of technology solutions while maintaining the highest levels of network availability and performance.
- Peer review of designs, implementation plans, software code, configuration settings or other artifacts
- Work with IT Product teams and other IT/OT areas as appropriate throughout the development, testing and implementation life cycle, including participation in troubleshooting of production issues
- Participating in the planning and execution of critical patches and version upgrades
- Applies operational break fixes and performs other proactive maintenance activities until permanent solutions can be implemented.
- Makes solutions and solution parts production-ready by following the standard change management processes, completing required forms, following procedures, completing version control documents, etc.
Job Specific Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field
- A minimum of 6 years of professional technology solution engineering
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities through technology solution ownership and adoption, projects or other work experiences.
- Demonstrated experience translating business outcomes, business requirements and technical requirements into technical designs for new technology solutions or enhancements to existing technology solutions, while following architectural standards and organizational policies
- Diverse experience in network/systems/security design and implementation of data network infrastructure based on mostly Cisco's equipment and technologies
- Experience in designing, implementing, and supporting data and converged network infrastructure including most of the following: 802.lx, vPC, VXLAN, Routing Protocols including OSPF and BGP, LAN/WAN/Wireless protocols, Network Management tools Load Balancers, Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), Next-Gen Firewalls, and other network related technologies in support of a large corporate network
- In-depth knowledge of Cisco IOS,IOS-XE, BGP, OSPF, and MPLS, technologies
- Experience with Datacenter virtualization technologies including hands on experience with Cisco Nexus platform including Spine/Leaf, 9k, 7k, 3k switching
- In-depth hands-on experience with Cisco ASR 8500/9000, 4000 ISR UC routers and Catalyst 9K, 4K, switching environments
Desired Qualifications:
- Cisco certifications -, CCNP Routing and Switching, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
